Hotel Swakopmund dengan Bar

We lived in Swakop in the 80s but had never stayed at The Hansa. Standards are very high, all the staff wear perfectly laundered/clean uniforms, are always smiling, and it is in the centre of the town which these days has everything one would need. Our only disappointments during our 4 days were: we only learnt on day 3 that a cooked breakfast was available; Saturday and Sunday were busy with tourists but there was very few breakfast staff on those 2 days; we went in to the bar on Friday and Saturday evenings and 22:00 was too early for it to close at the weekends because the guests from Germany and Holland were not impressed, especially on the Saturday night. We were also promised a table in the window for our last morning, but upon checking in for breakfast were told it was not possible because it had not been set!! Small details need addressing.

This is one of those hotels whose guests stay one night, and never return. It's a stopping off point for tours of Namibia, but not a destination in itself. And that ends up being felt in the service - which was off for a hotel at this price and pretension. Examples: - checking in, having booked on the hotel's own website, I was asked to prove I had paid. I showed the guy who was (v v slowly) checking us in the email payment confirmation from the hotel's own payment provider. He told me I had to email it to him (and he then slowly wrote out the email address for me). All I could think was ”I have been driving for 5 hours - why are you making the first thing I need to do to compensate for the fact your own systems don't work”. Petty because I was tired? Maybe - but not when you're spending $400 per night which is 3x the most expensive hotel in Windhoek. - service in the restaurant meant that a 1 course dinner took over 1.5 hours. Again, guests have been travelling. Not good enough. - check-our is 10am. And you pay by the hour for any later check-out. That's greedy especially when most guests are arriving late pm. - leaving at 4pm, I was asked where I was going. When i said 'Windhoek', he just said 'you've left it too late to leave'. Again, why add to a guest's stress ahead of a journey? The last 30 mins of the journey were in the dark. I managed. But 'take care - the last part of the journey may be in the dark' would be more hospitable. Maybe I was being a grouch, but my family weren't wowed either. It's a nice hotel, with decent food, good wifi (best we had in Namibia - iPhotos finally synched!). And other than the rather haughty front desk, the staff are nice. If you're up for the price, it's the place to stay. The rooms are already expensive but the junior suites are actually nice, whereas the luxury rooms are pretty tight.

Das The Delight Swakopmund ist wie ein modernes Hotel an der deutschen Nord- und Ostsee aufgemacht und ausgestattet. Maritime, aber auch namibianische Accessoires angenehm und stillvoll gemischt. Sehr nettes, kompetentes englischsprachiges Personal an/in Rezeption, Restaurant/Bar und Housekeeping. Nettes Detail war das abendliche Verteilen von Wärmflaschen vor einer kühleren Nacht. Frühstücksbuffet und Bar waren gut sortiert .Das Zimmer (Familienzimmer) war sehr geräumig und komplett ausgestattet. Alles funktionierte und war sauber. Alles in Allem jederzeit wieder und auch weiterzuempfehlen.

I enjoyed my stay at the Villa, wanted to extend my visit but had other commitments. The room was beautiful spacious and clean, very nice comfortable soft bed. Love the bath. Also a stunning view of the ocean, lovely to watch the sun setting. Helpful and Friendly staff. Good value for money (got a free upgrade).

We stayed here from 22-27 December 2023, and absolutely loved it. From the time I made bookings, Brigitte's assistance was top notch. When we arrived we were welcomed with broad smiles by reception staff. The staff was so helping and went the extra mile to ensure we had all activities booked. The rooms are clean and spacious. The only down side was the charismas lunch, which I felt did not deliver on what was promised on the menu. I looked forward to tasting eggnog which i have never had, but it was not available. The food that was served was tasty which made up for the missing things on the menu. Overall we had a great experience and will visit the hotel again Thank you to all staff. Tuelo

30 July 2024 Superb No cost upgrade to penthouse which was amazing, view from patio exceptional with desert on one side and the ocean on the other, central between Walvisbay and Swakopmund, no air-conditioner but provided heater for room that is adequate, staff very friendly and helpful, breakfast and dinner at Salt restaurant was very good, packed lunch boxes for us, we will definitely go back again @ C 14 between Luderitz and Swakopmund in terrible condition and need to be upgraded

As our travel abroad was coming to an end we finally were treated to sleeping in a bed and hotel showers. We were all pleasantly surprised by a new home. We spent 3 nights and 2 days here. We enjoyed the local restaurants and shops. Before going home we wished we could stay a few more days. Everyone were great.

We recently stayed at this hostel as a couple, and even though we're not into surfing, our experience was quite enjoyable. We opted for a private double room with shared bathroom facilities. There is secured parking. The kitchen facilities were also a big plus, allowing us to prepare our own meals and save some money on dining out. The owners and hosts were incredibly friendly and accommodating, making us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. They were always available to provide helpful tips and recommendations for exploring the area. The shared areas in the hostel were comfortable and inviting. Whether you wanted to relax, engage in conversation with fellow travelers, or get some work done, there were suitable spaces for all these activities.

The uniquely designed Beach Lodge is located in Swakopmund and features a restaurant, bar and BBQ facilities. The hotel has a garden and offers uninterrupted views of the Atlantic Ocean.
