Ulasan Shangri-La Far Eastern Tainan

Having stayed here several times in the past with great experiences, I chose this hotel again for this trip. The rooms are clean and the facilities are wonderful. However, I felt that the quality of service has declined compared to before. There were quite a few staff members who kept looking at their personal phones even as I approached, or who didn't say anything even when our eyes met. As a Shangri-La property, I found the service somewhat lacking.

The service was warm and courteous, and the room had a great view. It was a very comfortable travel experience.

I took train attended a seminar in National Cheng Kung University. Shangrila is next to the University and is also located next to the train station. Very good services including delicious breakfast and spacious room.

The hotel is surrounded by a lot of great restaurants, snack bars, and fruit stands. Shopping is convenient, and in the evening, taking a stroll around the nearby school area is lovely. The environment is fantastic, and I highly recommend it.

The hotel is conveniently located next to Tainan Railway Station. As an established five-star hotel, there's no need to worry about cleanliness or service. My room on the 30th floor, facing the train station, offered a clear view of the Tainan coastline and skyline, which was absolutely beautiful. The fitness center, sauna facilities, and pool were all excellent. The turndown service was a thoughtful touch, providing fresh slippers and even tidying up the room again. Holding it to the higher standards of a five-star hotel, I'll nitpick a few areas that, if improved, would make it even better: Firstly, the hairdryer was underpowered and old – a 1200w model from 2018. It took almost 20 minutes to dry my hair, which was quite annoying. Secondly, the front desk hotline. I called the front desk about five times, and twice my calls went unanswered. Once was at 9 PM and another time at 11 AM, neither of which are unusual hours. This kind of issue shouldn't happen. Thirdly, the hotel facilities. Perhaps because it's an older hotel, there were slight signs of aging in the room's amenities, and the main light control was a bit inconvenient. Overall, however, it was a very pleasant stay. The staff's attitude was impeccable, and the price was reasonable. I would definitely choose to stay here again on my next visit.

Nice 5 star hotel just behind Tainan City train station. Walking distance to many restaurants. Bus stop for bus number 88 is right in front of hotel. Room and bathroom size is very big. Well maintained hotel. AC and wifi all worked well. From check in to check out service was very good. Bed was very comfortable. Highly recommended for travelers to Tainan.

The location is convenient, close to the train station and easily accessible to the city center. Plus, the environment is great and the service is excellent.

The location offers extremely convenient transportation; the High-Speed Rail station is just across the street. The interior connects directly to a shopping mall, making shopping very convenient. Units on the upper floors offer panoramic views of the city. I particularly appreciated the multiple hooks in the bathroom—it meant I didn't have to worry about finding a place to hang my clothes while getting ready.

My first impression was that it was "old school", with a traditional sense of luxury that comes from an overwhelming Lobby & Reception, large comfortable Elevator lobbies etc. I also appreciate the great service from the staff who brought us extra coffee creamer, to housekeeping who straightened up my mess. Concierge was very attentive, she checked our taxi after we've alighted, to ensure that nothing was left behind. Its this attention to detail that I find rare these days, and therefore its left a deep impression on me. If I were to point out any shortcoming, it would be that the lighting design of the hotel needs a refresh. Some newer lights, aroma/scented corridors, and background music would help. (oops.. occupational hazard...).

Honestly, this was the worst Shangri-La experience I've ever had. When I got to the room and opened the toilet, there was toilet paper still in it that hadn't been flushed. After using the bathtub, I accidentally spilled some water and discovered that the bathroom floor actually sloped in the opposite direction of the drain, with the drain being the highest point! All the water that should have flowed towards the drain under the sink instead flowed the other way and pooled next to the toilet, staying there all night. I called housekeeping, but no one came, so I had to step into a puddle every time I used the toilet the next day. When I complained to the front desk at checkout about housekeeping not responding, they just brushed it off, saying it was a shift change. Absolutely unacceptable!

Fantastic location just above far east mall and two minute walk from Tainan train station. Love the stay very spacious room and unblocked view

very quiet and serene, nearby has a shopping mall, no bus stop near better to take uber to visit different places.

location is good and just opposite to train station, you can walk to the central area and also call Uber.

Return visitor and will definitely book again in the future. Staff at great and attentive, pool/gym/sauna is great and the food is pretty good also
