Hotel 3 Bintang di Tours

We stayed here a few days ago. Mohammed, at check-in, was really informative and helpful. His recommendations of local restaurants were spot on! We had the breakfast each day; not much hot food but a good selection of fruit, pastries, cereals yoghurts etc. which set us up for the day. Our room was lovely, we really appreciated the kettle! And a special mention for our chambermaid, Celine, who couldn't have been more helpful. Some of the best service we've ever had in a hotel. The only thing that stopped me giving 5 stars is agreement with the comments that other people have made about the parking. It's very tight! We drive a Volvo XC60, and we managed to manoeuvre in and out, with one of us driving and the other watching. But there were always plenty of parking spaces.

Really wish we could have stayed here longer! We had 1 night in a very well-equipped, spacious T4 apartment. A balcony would have made it perfect! The secure underground parking was a particular attraction when staying in a city. We walked into town and enjoyed exploring the old town, the river banks and generally soaking up the atmosphere. There is a bakery about 10 minutes walk away if you don't want to pay 11 euros per person for breakfast. There is also an Auchan supermarket about 10 minutes in the opposite direction over the pedestrian railway bridge. Although the hotel overlooks the railway, soundproofing is excellent. Would definitely recommend this place whether travelling by rail or car.

Pros Can check in until 2am. Can just park the car near the hotel which is good. Staffs were friendly. Cons The room was quite small and very simple.

Bien pour la communication toutefois le téléphone répond pas personnel sympathique residence bien tenue au niveau des chambres départ trop tôt le matin à revoir car supplément demandé piscine ouverte e. Week end seulement jusqu'à 19 h 30 il est difficile de stationner sans payer et la proximité avec la gare généré des rencontres peu fréquentables agressives saouls donc pas en sécurité très proche par contre du centre ville pour l'éche vitrine et on peut déjeuner à tous niveaux le supplément chien est exagéré mais ils sont bienvenus et c'est Parfait

Loved this glorious peacock of a boutique hotel. Want that green for my own walls. We took an attic room, last minute. The bed was so comfortable. I don't normally sleep well in a new bed but drifted off straight away. Everything was beautifully clean. Shower room, compact and practical. The breakfast this morning was wonderful, so much choice. Do not worry about parking. When we arrived In Tours we took a temporary parking and then when we checked in, got directions for the parking that costs 10 euros for secure parking for 24 hours. You park, get your ordinary ticket. When you check out of the hotel, you show them your ticket. They issue you with a second one to get your discount. If we ever return to Tours would stay here again.

There is much to like about this lovely relaxing hotel. The pity was we had only one night here on our route from Marbella to Calais and it was much to our regret that we could not stay here longer. It's right in the centre of Tours, but down a quiet residential street. We hit town right at evening rush hour and traffic was tricky, but Tours is manageable size-wise. it has off-street parking for maybe eight cars, we found a spot, luckily. I'm not sure how they manage other guests. The welcome was friendly and efficient and we loved our room. it was big, spacious, comfortable and spotless. Everything you want to see in Tours is within walking distance too, or most at least and this neighbourhood is residential with lots of small businesses including restaurants. The Loire is 5 minutes away and a strret awash with restaurants is the same diatance. the Cathedral is maybe ten minutes or even less and the main thoroughfare is very near. Tours was bombed badly in the war so many of the streets and buildings in the centre were rebuilt post-war. I like Best Western-branded hotels. You know what you're going to get and they live up to their promise and exceed it on many visits I make. And that's more than fair. This hotel, an old Abbey - you wouldn't know apart from the odd hint - exceeded it.

Chose this hotel because we wanted to spend the evening in Tours city centre. This was an Ibis Styles and proved far better than the standard Ibis we had stayed at the night before. The room was spacious and pleasant (without the very budget feel of the standard Ibis). The breakfast was fine once you tracked down all the things you needed! Ibis have egg-boiling machines, which are fine provided that some slots in the machine are free and not being used by other guests. Otherwise you have to wait for them to claim their eggs and then wait for yours to boil. Can take some time! I'm guessing this system reduces the number of eggs that get used. Personally, I'd be happy with some ready to go, hard-boiled eggs as an additional option. Another reason we chose this hotel was for the secure, private parking (extra charge payable). Was surprised that it wasn't possible to reserve this in advance. Had we arrived to find the car park full, it could have been a problem as this is a busy part of the city. One thing to note is that the surface-level car park is entered through a narrow arch and you need a wide turn to get the right angle. This can be problematic in heavy traffic. It's probably best to approach on the other side of the road and to turn across the traffic. The staff were helpful and friendly. They advised us how to take the tram into the tourist area in the city centre. In fact, you can walk there in about 30 minutes if you prefer. Would happily stay here again, although it took quite some time to drive through the heavy traffic to get there.
