Le Cardinal Exclusive Resort

Le Cardinal is a small hotel with only 13 rooms. Our room was spacious and the balcony had a lovely sea view. The staff were so friendly and professional. Nothing was too much trouble. Food was amazing. The pool and beach area was nice. I had the pool to myself most of the time as most people seemed to prefer the beach area. Plenty of sun beds. The sunsets were amazing. Didn’t use the facilities of the sister hotel but had a look around and used the spa and had a massage which was nice.

Coming to the end of an incredible week staying at La Cardinal, a hotel which has totally surpassed my expectations. The five star reviews do not do the place justice! It has a perfect location on the beach front, with very easy access to the sea, whilst the small number of rooms means it remains quiet and peaceful. The food is some of the best I have ever tasted at a hotel, each night we have tried something different and it has all been superb, particularly the fish and seafood dishes. Shiva, the team and the chefs are what really make the place special. For those who want entertainment after dinner, the Causarina over the road has it (it is part of the same chain, with the same great staff) but we were happy to stay listening to the sound of waves lapping against the shore.

From the start to the finish of our holiday we were looked after by the best staff at a holiday hotel we have ever experienced. The hotel is small and quiet and from the moment you entered the hotel you felt you were entering a retreat. Food was outstanding and we are currently looking to go back to this hotel as soon as possible. The suites are spacious, luxurious and have amazing views. If you are looking for a quiet , relaxed, beach front holiday, this is definitely one of the best !!!!

Another fantastic stay in this hotel. A quiet and exclusive resort hotel with a great beachfront location. The hotel being small has a very close knit staff who are very good at their jobs and have a great attitude. We were All Inclusive so some of the food and drink options will be different depending on your own option. Rooms are spacious and always clean. We had no issues for the three weeks we stayed there and had a turn down service every night. Mini bar is chargeable, but you can take the occasional drink to your room. All the rooms are beach facing. The food is Al La Carte. No buffet at all, but the menu is varied with a “Specials menu” each day for 14 days, before the choice returns. The standard menu has a nice choice and there are chargeable items on all of the menus, but we had no charges and were happy with all the choice at Breakfast, Lunch and Evening meal. All of which were well cooked and eaten in a relaxed atmosphere. Dress code was refreshingly good with men having to wear long trousers and a shirt/sleeved polo shirt/sleeved T shirt. And it was enforced with no complaints. If you are all inclusive the Casuarina directly across the road allows AI guests to enjoy the facilities including meals and drinks. The Casuarina is an entirely different vibe with night time activities so if you do feel the need for entertainment it’s somewhere else to go. The only criticism I had about food and drink is the Tiki bar at Le Cardinal was not always manned and you either had a wait or go and find someone to deal with your order. The beach was clean and tidy, very quiet and directly in front of the hotel the sunbeds/Palapas were for guests only. Security dealt with any issues promptly. Also there is a decent sized safe swimming area with an area that has some interest for snorkellers. A lot of watercraft traffic is outside the area so if you are snorkelling outside the area a personal buoy is a very good idea. A few beach sellers, but there are quite happy with a no Thank you and not pushy at all. In fact we ended up chatting to them without actually being asked to buy anything towards the end of the holiday There is a small pool, but this was also a nice place to retire to to cool down towards the end of the afternoon and set in the gardens which are well cultivated gives it a good quiet vibe as well. It would be unfair to single out any staff, but Danny and Vikash were my top two, but everyone else was also helpful and attentive. All in all a great holiday with very little to fault.

We had a wonderful holiday at Le Cardinal, The staff are all amazing Danial Raoul max mimi to name a few. Apologies if I've forgotten anyone as everyone was amazing from the cleaner to the chefs and even the security guard and not forgetting the receptionists. All inclusive was wonderful more like A l u carte. Its akin to fine dining. The location is fabulous just 10 mins by taxi to Grand bae. It was very peaceful and relaxing the sunsets are to die for... ignore any negative reviews as I think those peoples expectations are extremely high.. If you want a little bit of Paradise on earth then go to Mauritius and choose the Le Cardinal with only 13 rooms is peaceful and you get that personal touch that lager hotels can not achieve. This small boutique hotel is ideal for anyone looking for a relaxing, idyllic break. The beach on your doorstep is stunning with plenty of comfortable sun loungers (no mad rush to get one in the morning which added to the relaxed atmosphere). The rooms are spacious and comfortable all with ocean views. However what really makes this hotel extra special is the amazing staff. You could not ask for a friendlier, caring or more attentive bunch, truly the best we have ever came across in any hotel. I could give countless examples of the fantastic service we received but I’ll finish by giving a special thank you to Rawa, Ashween and Daniel (along with our fellow guests) for making our last night such great fun We are truly grateful for the memories.
