"Good gym, breakfast was varried and delicious. Nearer to the panaroma route. Room floors were dirty, had to clean the floor with the bathroom mat. Not walking distance to hoedspruit proper, will require a paid shuttle. Would have prefer if a free shuttle can be provided by the hotel. Not ideal for visits to kruger national park as it is approx 2 hours to the park. Overall, would recommend as a overnight stop after visiting the panaroma route."

"The accommodation was comparable to a tropical paradise. Everything was super clean and the grounds were immaculately maintained. We stayed in our own rondavel, which was stylishly and individually furnished. In the river belonging to the property, directly bordering the rondavels, we were able to observe small crocodiles and a group of hippos up close. That in itself was a highlight! Between the first and second gates lay a long path, which we enjoyed walking after the day's activities (or by car). Here, we had close encounters with free-roaming ostriches, giraffes, and zebras every day. Another highlight every time! The staff were very friendly and accommodating at all times. They really tried to fulfill our every wish!"

"The chalet was clean and neatly presented on arrival. Pledge was helpful when we requested that the neighbours in the next unit were rather loud after 10pm with their festive mood. Cushions for the patio bench would be nice and the thatch leaked near the front door after the heavy rainstorm on the Saturday night. This is our second stay at Amafu and would come back to either Nubi or Leavi anytime."

"Lodge offered a beautiful, peaceful setting with thoughtful décor, charming side rooms, and spacious patios, allowing guests to spread out. The grounds are well-kept and perfect for unwinding between game drives. While our room was clean and had a large shower, it was dated and on the smaller side especially for two adults. Meals were excellent every day. Food was fresh and varied, with themed braais and great menu diversity. The chef was present at every meal, ensuring everything ran smoothly. However, the dining room staff could have been more attentive offering drinks, etc. Maybe they can use all hands on deck with the lodge is full. The highlight of our stay was the game drives. Our guides, Gilbert and Johnson, were fantastic—friendly, skilled, and always enthusiastic. We had amazing encounters, including walking alongside cheetahs and observing the lions and rhinos up close. Drives were made even better with thoughtful extras like tea, snacks, and beautifully arranged sun risers (coffee) and sundowners (happy hour) inside the reserve daily. We had tea time before the afternoon safaris and were welcomed back with a warm towel and a drink after evening safaris. Highly recommended for those seeking a well-rounded, memorable safari! Tips: • Wi‑Fi is patchy—use the time to unplug! • Game drives start early—be ready to rise before dawn. •. Read on what’s appropriate to wear. •. Sudden temperature changes, dress in layers. •. Your day is very structured."

"We had the most amazing time at Chisomo Safari Camp in Karongwe. Everything about our stay was fantastic. The food was excellent every day and the service from everyone at the camp was genuinely warm and welcoming. The game drives were a huge highlight. Our guide Sonday and tracker Ernist were absolutely brilliant — so knowledgeable and great at what they do. Thanks to them, we were lucky enough to see the Big 5 multiple times on different drives, which was just unreal. The accommodation was very well looked after and felt really special, with animals and monkeys constantly around the camp and even near the pool area. It truly feels like you’re surrounded by wildlife at all times. A big shout-out to matone , who greeted us every day with warm towels and helped organise everything so smoothly. Those little touches really made a difference. One thing we loved was coming back from the morning game drive to a beautifully laid-out breakfast table, and then the same again in the evening after the afternoon drive — it made each day feel so relaxed and special. On our last night, the team went above and beyond and laid on a special dinner just for us, which was such a thoughtful and memorable way to end our stay. Chisomo Safari Camp is something truly special — amazing wildlife, great food, wonderful people, and an unforgettable atmosphere. We couldn’t recommend it enough and would absolutely love to return one day."

"A pleasant stay in a peaceful setting. If you're looking for peace and quiet, this is the ideal place. The staff is attentive, even cleaning your vehicle every morning. The dishes offered for breakfast and dinner are generous. The dinner price is affordable. The only downside is that the lodge is located 20 minutes by car from the main road, and the road is damaged. The advantage of driving at a walking pace is that it allows you to spot animals!"
