Hotel Pirate Old Town

Pirate Hotel in Ulcinj is a hidden gem that beautifully blends comfort with old-world charm. Although the building is new, it’s constructed in a traditional style with stone, giving it a character that perfectly matches the surrounding historic area. Its location in the heart of the Old Town is unbeatable, offering easy access to local attractions and the beach, while still feeling tucked away from the busier spots. The views from the hotel are simply stunning. I believe all rooms offer a sea view, and waking up to the sight of the Adriatic is a treat in itself. Breakfast is another highlight—generous and varied, with plenty of options to start the day. The portions are huge, reflecting the warm Montenegrin /Albanian hospitality. The rooms are well-appointed, with comfortable beds that ensure a great night’s sleep. The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful, always on hand with a smile. Their hospitality adds a personal touch to the overall experience. If I had to mention a minor improvement, it would be that the bathroom could benefit from more toiletries, especially for those traveling light, and perhaps the addition of a few towel hooks to help keep things tidy. Overall, Pirate Hotel is a solid 3-star hotel, rather than 4-star, but it’s a fantastic choice for anyone visiting Ulcinj. I will definitely stay here again. Highly recommended!

In fact a 3* in a beautiful old town but surrounded by not so beautiful city. Hotel staff was very nice. Room 2 is beautiful with a great view. Breakfast is normal but not as good (fruits, meat, cheese) as expected. Cleaning service could be improved: missing towels, glass not cleaned, floor not vacuumed,…no tissues, good wifi.

I had the good fortune to find myself checking in having been let down elsewhere. This is an excellent hotel. It is well run with friendly and attentive staff. Knowing what I know now I would choose this hotel, above others, without hesitation

Our room was spacious with panoramic views out to sea. The adjacent property was a cemetery which might give you something to think about. The staff was pleasant and helpful when around but often weren’t. Note that our room was a third floor walk up with no room phone so any request was a walk down. Also noteworthy, the art of plumbing was not completely mastered. Water in the washbasin flowed away from the drain. GPS was a guide to the area of the hotel but Google maps was confusing. Parking, if available was about 150-200 meters from the hotel and a steep hike up and down. When you return to the hotel after dinner, you will find the front door locked and no one there. Eventually, you will find an unlocked side door. Breakfast was OK and about standard.

Abbiamo pernottato per 7 notti in una camera con vista mare. L’hotel in generale è molto carino e ordinato, arredato con gusto. Si trova nella città vecchia, che è una perla incastonata nella costa di Dulcigno: al contrario della città sottostante, molto caotica e tendenzialmente sporca, la Old Town è un piccolo paradiso. Ricorda molto un borghetto toscano. Abbastanza pulito: la camera veniva rifatta ogni giorno e venivano cambiati sempre tutti gli asciugamani. Unica pecca: il pavimento non è mai stato spazzato o aspirato. Per noi è andato comunque bene perché abbiamo cercato di sporcare il meno possibile, togliendo i capelli dal pavimento dopo averli asciugati e sfilando le scarpe sulla porta, ma per altri potrebbe essere un problemino. La vista dalla camera è mozzafiato, soprattutto al tramonto! Il parcheggio, come in tutti i centri città, è purtroppo un po’ scomodo: si trova appena fuori le mura ed è pagamento (8€ al giorno). È un parcheggio comunale, sempre presidiato da un addetto. Il personale ha una disponibilità e una cortesia eccellente: offrono sempre supporto per il trasporto dei bagagli dal parcheggio all’hotel. Inoltre, l’ultimo giorno siamo partiti la mattina presto (prima dell’orario della colazione) e ci hanno comunque preparato il caffè al banco e un pranzo al sacco da portare in viaggio. La colazione è molto ricca, principalmente a base di prodotti freschi e con la possibilità di ordinare preparazioni calde al momento. Abbiamo anche cenato nel loro ristorante la prima sera: ottimo pesce cucinato molto bene, anche se con un po’ troppo aglio per i nostri gusti. Potete chiedere in reception qualche consiglio sulle cose da fare e i posti da vedere, non esiteranno a darvi ottimi spunti.
