Hotel Colón Plaza

This hotel is located in the middle of everything in Valladolid. I don't speak Spanish and the staff at the desk was able to clearly explain where the parking garage across street was and the breakfast was top notch every morning. Room was small but in great condition. AC worked well.

We booked a twin room here overnight, having had a nice stay here before. Check in was fine and after being allocated our room, I asked about receiving the complimentary beverage which comes with the booking, having had two small beers on our last visit . The receptionist was not very accommodating and said it is only water in your room. ( this turned out to be “ pay for “ in the mini bar). Rather than cause an argument over a few euros drink, I dropped the matter and let ******* know on the questionnaire they had sent. The room was fine and clean, note ; no tea/coffee making facilities. On returning to the hotel after going out for dinner we went into the bar to watch the football and naturally have a few drinks. Around 2130 we noticed the staff were laying up for breakfast and were banging things on the tables and clearly did not want us in there. This became even more so, around 15 minutes later when we were told they were closing the bar and we had to leave. We were told we could watch the football in our room !! This was 2145 in the evening. I was disgusted, what a disgraceful way to treat paying guests . Apart from that , the hotel was actually advertising outside for people to come into the bar and watch the sport. The next morning we had breakfast which was fine , the waitress there was probably the only really decent and accommodating member of staff at this hotel. On checking out, I gave the hotel a final chance to redeem themselves and asked the female receptionist about the two complimentary drinks we should have had, but she was just not interested. We left, unlikely to return.

This is a small hotel located within easy walking distance from Plaza Mayor and the main shopping, restaurant areas. Essentially you can walk everywhere and even the cathedral is an easy 20 minute walk. Lots of breakfast options nearby so no need to pay for expensive hotel breakfasts. You can get breakfast from €5 to €3 nearby and that includes a coffee, juice, pain au chocolat plus a main item eg tortilla, pan con tomate, churros etc. We went to Senatta - great bakery five minutes from the hotel. We had a double room which was compact but very clean. This is not a luxurious hotel and the rooms are simple but adequate and comfortably furnished. Bathrooms have all the basic amenities and a partial shower screen which means a very wet bathroom floor after a couple of showers. I was expecting better rooms based on the reviews. Annoyingly the lights in the corridors are activated by movement, which is very disconcerting when the sensor is located a number of steps from your room which was our experience. It means you are fumbling in the dark until you trigger a sensor. Not a pleasant experience. Also irritating is that there are stairs to enter/leave the hotel which means lifting luggage. Car park is a short walk away and €17 a night. Whilst our stay was okay will look for other options if we return to Valladolid. Check in and out very efficient.

Since the moment I arrive the service, the employes everyone at the Hotel where super nice and attentive, the food was excelent. The room super comfi. I love my stay at the Hotel and hope to repeat maybe next year

Absolutely wonderful! The staff was amazing, the room/suite was so comfortable and quiet, the bathroom was better than at home(!), the breakfast buffet delicious and ample, and the location was perfect. I can’t think of any more superlatives to use! We were completely delighted with our four-night stay. Thank you to everyone at the Hotel Colón Plaza. You made this rather travel-weary couple so happy!

Ideal localization, awesome staff, wonderful food, perfect for me! I spent great days at Hotel Colon Plaza: it is close to every place one wants to see: many places within walking distance; others by subway which is very close too. Hotel, service, food, staff: wonderful! Keep up!

My friend and I had a night here on a Tuesday in late August. we had arrived by train, and it is easy to find, only a few minutes walk. on arrival, the receptionist on seeing us, dashed out to help with our cases. Obviously, there was no wait and checkin was smooth. We had a nice room on the fourth floor which overlooked the park opposite. Everything was clean and well presented, lots of hot water, with the only small issue being the AIR CONDITIONING just did not really go that cool, despite numerous attempts. Breakfast was plentiful and very nice, lots of choice. the city seems to close early at nights as walking up the town way everywhere seemed to be closing by 11pm which was quite unusual. check out was fine and the staff were all very nice and very professional. We would not hesitate to stay here again and indeed recommend this place to anyone.

This was my second stay at this hotel and it was just as good as the first. Firstly, the staff are so friendly, helpful, and really welcoming. The hotel lobby is also really nicely decorated and there is a restaurant area. The room was lovely and very clean. We had the superior double room which came with a lovely balcony with views of the plaza. The room also features a big flatscreen tv, safe, and mini fridge. The bathroom was clean and the glass shower was very nice. The only issue we had was that it was quite warm during our stay and they do not put on the AC until May. However, we opened the window and it cooled down eventually. The hotel location is great, it is 2 minutes from the train station and a 5 minute walk to the Plaza Mayor. Overall a wonderful stay and we will definitely return!

I stayed here 3 nights on my way to Leon to walk the Camino deSantiago. It was a great place to relax and stay. I’ve visited Plaza up the street and also they have a great park right across the street. They had a rare red squirrel and a lot of peacocks. It was great just to sit and relax and enjoy the time. The hotel itself was very clean and they have a great restaurant with a wonderful staff. I would highly recommend this hotel and I definitely will stay here again.
