We stayed at La Marebaudiere in August 2023 for a couple of nights whilst on a roadtrip down to Bordeaux. The hotel has it's own car park and is conveniently situated within easy walking distance of the main area of Vannes, including all the main tourist sites, restaurants and shops (between 5 and 15 mins to get to most places). The room was clean and tastefully decorated with good facilities, but only had a small velux window. This didn't bother us too much as we were out most of the time. The aircon was a little noisy and needs attention. Breakfast was a selection of hot and cold buffet food and was perfectly adequate for what we needed and there are so many restaurants just a short walk away. Ideal as a stopover if you're visiting Vannes for a couple of days and don't want to be right in the centre of town. Vannes itself is stunning and there is so much to see - would highly recommend!

My partner and I had booked our room five days prior to our stay. On arrival, we were informed that the newly renovated Spa and Well-being centre were not open. This was particularly disappointing as my wife was looking forward to using the spa facility. When we asked at reception as to why we were not informed (no spa facilities) at time of booking, the staff could provide no answer other than give a shrug of indifference. We have stayed at this hotel on numerous occasions over the past ten years, prior to the refurbishment (Hotel Ocean Manche) and we were disappointed that the hotel has lost all of its Gallic charm. The exterior of the hotel now looks like a shabby undertakers, the bathroom (in our room) had lost its bath and bidet, and was now (post-refurbishment) cramped and poorly finished. The coffee facility in the bedroom is a Nespresso machine stuck in the open plan wardrobe, there are no glasses in the room, (when we asked for a couple of glasses at reception, we were given paper cups). Though advertised, there was no available Netflix or Amazon available to view. Overall very disappointing, and I am somewhat dubious of the numerous reviews listed on the hotel website that seem to heap praise on the wonderful bed linen? Finally, despite numerous complaints to the hotel, and Original Hotels Service Quality department regarding the lack of advertised facilities during our stay, no apology has been forthcoming, other than one email from the Service Quality department apportioning blame on the Hotel Maury (no response whatsoever from the hotel).

Il est dommage de rester sur un avis de 2022. Nous sommes en juin 2023, les travaux de rénovation sont terminés depuis longtemps et ce B and B ressemble aux autres hôtels de cette catégorie. Oui, il y a une casse à côté, mais pas de bruits particuliers car cette entreprise ne travaille pas de nuit... Par contre, le patron est sympathique et le petit déjeuner, de qualité. Pour ce qui concerne le matelas, le nôtre était assez bon pour que nous passions deux nuits sans problème particulier.

REISEGRUND: Rundreise im Rahmen einer Reisegruppe. Hotelbuchung erfolgte also über einen Reiseveranstalter. POSITIV: Das Hotel machte im Großen und Ganzen einen sauberen und ordentlichen Eindruck. Es war ein architektonisch gemütliches IBIS. Das heißt: Nicht der übliche, hässliche Glas-Beton-Klopper sondern wie eine Art Reihenhaus und nur mit 2 Etagen. Die geschlossenen Fenster hielten die Lautstärke von draußen sehr gut weg. FÜR UNS PERSÖNLICH NEGATIV: Lage direkt an der Autobahn. Weiter entfernt von der Innenstadt. Umgebung wenig ansprechend. Im Bad des Zimmers (siehe Fotos): Verschiedene Bereiche wirkten schimmelig (?) und der Spiegel hatte viele Abplatzungen. Zimmer sehr klein. Vor allem der Eingangsbereich der Zimmer war nahezu nur für normalgewichtige Personen passierbar ＞ unglaublich eng ＞ auch mit Gepäck schwierig. Man hatte kaum Platz zum Treten, vor allem zu Zweit und mit auch noch 2 Koffern im Raum＞ vor allem nachts, wenn man - ohne den anderen stören zu wollen - mal auf Toilette musste. Innen laut! Die Zimmer sind seeehr hellhörig, Bsp.: Man hört, wenn im Nachbarzimmer die Toilettenspülung geht oder wenn dort geduscht wird, wenn andere Zimmertüren zuknallen steht man ihm Bett (die ließen sich nicht leise schließen) ＞ Nachts und in den frühen Morgenstunden waren wir dadurch zwangsläufig häufig wach. Im Erdgeschoss wohnt man ebenerdig. Also so niedrig, dass wir nicht bei offenem Fenster schlafen konnten/wollten - von der Geräuschkulisse der Autobahn und den lauten über Mikro und Verstärker gebrüllten Durchsagen vermutlich der Tennishalle nebenan bis in die späteren Abendstunden hinein und gleich morgens ab 8:00 Uhr schon wieder ganz abgesehen. Keine Mülltüten im Abfalleimer im Badezimmer. Die Rezeption sprach so gut wie kein Englisch, geschweige denn irgendeine andere Sprache als Französisch. Frühstück okay. Hatten auch 2x mit Abendessen. Dieses schmeckte dem Großteil der Gruppe nicht so. Vor allem das Fleisch war sehr durchwachsen.

Arrivé à 14h30 pour récupérer la clef et nous rendre dans le centre de vannes pour les fêtes d'Arvor . Refus catégorique de l'accueil pas avant 16h00. Et si on rentre après 23h00? Vous appelez on vous donne votre n° de chambre et la clef est sur le rebord de la fenêtre .. Super rassurant comme principe . Appel à 22h30 , comme prévu n° chambre, la clef sous la fenêtre + le prix sera débité sur la réservation CB . Mais je suis la demain matin au pdj pour régler . Non c'est la procédure . OK donc pas de possibilité de payer en chèques vacances alors que j'avais fait une réservation avec un tarif flexible ( + 8 ou 10 € ) pour justement que ma CB ne soit pas débitée . Le lendemain je vois la personne qui nous a ”accueilli” la veille et je lui parle de mon désagrément . ” Je suis la directrice .....................................................................” Pas de discutions possible . Bien madame la directrice je ferai comme vous me l'avez à demi mots suggéré , j'irai voir ailleurs . Autrement les fêtes d'Arvor je recommande . .
