La Maison du Frene

Highly recommended. This Hotel/Guest House offers style and hospitality rarely found in today’s world. Excellent location.

La Maison du Frêne is a one of a kind B&B located on a dead end block facing the outside facing wall of the Medieval part of town of Vence. Staying there is like living inside a museum with artwork spread across the entrance, the stairs, the dining room and your room. We stayed in the "Vallauris" room on the second floor lavishly decorated with antiques and artwork. The room is large and comprises the bedroom, a separate desk and reading area and a large separate bedroom. Thiery you host, will answer all of your questions and is ready to suggest things to do. Antoine, Guy Boilleaut's son was also very helpful. He offered us a reservation to the restaurant accross the street after the other couple cancelled. There is no parking at the restaurant but there are two parking garage nearby and it is a short walk back to the B&B. There are good restaurants 5 minutes away.

Even though we used to live in this region I hadn’t considered a B and B, but this beautiful place is something else. The place is simply stunning. The staff and owners are a delight. It represents amazing value in this region. I stayed in The Chateau suite and was surrounded by truly special decor and comfort. Perfect base to explore the region with many restaurants in the local area. The facilities are so well:considered even down to a shoe horn and torch, as well a welcome fridge, and availability of drinks to order. I’ve just arrived back home today and am already looking forward to another visit,

Overall, one of the nicest hotels we've ever stay in. Reasonable prices and large rooms that are elegantly decorated with a fabulous bathroom and shower. All the owners (3 I think) were gracious and welcoming. Highly recommended.

This well located guest house (just beyond the old city walls) is unique and charming in every way. The decor is quirky, eclectic, vibrant and fun. The breakfast was generous and very good. Our rooms were large, clean, well appointed and comfortable. The small team of staff and owners was very friendly, attentive and helpful in advising on itineraries and making restaurant suggestions and reservations. Our three night stay here was a distinct highlight in our vacation and we feel lucky to have discovered it and the delightful town of Vence. Highly recommended.

We had three nights at La Maison du Frene. Our room was lovely, very spacious and well appointed. Breakfast was great the highlight being the freshly cooked croissants. The hosts were very friendly and Thierry's local knowledge and suggestions were very helpful. La Maison du Frene was in a great position, easy walk to restaurants and has paid parking a short walk away.

Our Family's started our France Holiday in Vence. La Maison Du Frene is an excellent Guest House, located in a very old Historical Building. The rooms are very well appointed with the most beautiful artworks sitting areas and comfortable beds and very nice bedding. The bathrooms are huge with magnificent showers. Mansion Du Frene is centrally located inside the old Town within walking distance from the town square and interesting speciality shops. Antoine's croissants, at breakfast was the best we had in France. Thierry, Guy and Antoine made us truly feel welcome. Parking inside Vence is very limited and expensive. I suggest you park your car at the Marie Antoinette Parking area search for it on your GPS. It is not covered but the cheapest option and just a couple of minutes walk from the guest house. Maison Du Frene is definitely our best choice for accommodation in Vence.

We stayed for 4 nights in the Vallauris suite in this quirky bed and breakfast. It's location is perfect in the town of Vence, right at the entrance to the old town. Fantastic and unusual decor, run by lovely helpful people. Communication before we stayed was great. Our room was very large, bright and airy. It had 4 windows facing out on to the street. Plenty of seating, large bed, nice decor. The walk in shower was excellent. Plenty of hot water, non slippery surface. Double sink.....all that you need by way of soaps, shampoos, tissues, hair dryer......also a kettle plus selection of teas to choose from. The toilet area is separate to the bathroom area. Continental breakfast was included in the room rate. It was pretty good but after 4 days of eating the same food a change would have been nice. We enjoyed our daily chats with the owners, who went out of their way to make our stay as pleasant as possible. In the evenings, entrance to the building was by way of key code. Simple to use. Vence is a lovely town. The bus station is about a 6 minute walk away. You can get the 650 bus to St Paul de Vence from the station and about 50 yds from the bus station on Avenue Foch you can get the 651 bus to Tourettes sur loup. I would gladly stay here again.
