Clean and modern hotel, with great views from the balcony. Short walk to the slopes. Rooms are small, we were a group of 4 in a 6 bed apartment and struggled. Long queue for check in when we arrive Saturday early evening. On last day we had to check out at 10am but flight wasn’t until evening so we left our luggage in luggage room which front of house staff helped us with. However when we returned later in the afternoon the luggage room was locked and there was no staff on front desk to help us unlock it. We spent 30 mins trying to find a member of staff, calling the hotel, ringing the emergency number with no success. Eventually a cleaner was able to help us but was a very stressful experience and meant we were later than planned to the airport. Cannot understand why the staff did not tell us when we left our luggage that the front desk would be unmanned from 12-4:30pm!

So these apartments were sold to us as a ski in ski out residence, the lifts are not working and haven’t been for quite some time so you cannot access the gondolas. We arrived at 1930 to find reception was closed, we were given our keys by the crystal ski rep who informed us we had to check in the following day at midday!!!! And pay a €200 deposit. We certainly wasn’t going to loose a days skiing by coming back to the hotel at midday but we did decide to leave the slopes early to get to reception by 4pm, once again they were closed!! We all went out for an evening meal and the children went back early only to find we had been locked out of all our rooms, they went down to reception where a rather rude and intimidating man informed them that if we don’t check in by 7pm we would all be permanently locked out and thrown out the apartments. This obviously upset some of our children making them cry!! We contacted our rep who tried to sort out the situation but with no joy so we had to leave our meal to go back to the apartments where they then demanded €400 per family. What a shocking experience, crystal ski should not be using this accommodation!!!! Also you get dropped off 200m away by your transfer and it’s all up hill with your luggage including steps with no help!!!

We had a lovely stay in a four bedroom apartment for 5 people, so stacks of space. The apartment was well equipped with both the bathrooms bath giving a lovely massage/jacuzzi at the end of the day. The feature fireplace was cute and the option to use the log burner. Our balcony was huge as was the apartment. Lovely big bedrooms, and a great oven that you can actually use and cook real food in rather than a microwave! TV with English channels. There is no welcome pack so you need to bring dishwasher tablets and cleaning stuff yourself. We were able to ski from our apartment using the Super Venosc lift and then ski to the other side using the petite Aguille chairlift. The pool was delightfully warm (30 degrees) so was a great bonus after a hard day of skiing. Treats in reception at 5pm such as popcorn and donuts keeping little people happy. There is still some decoration to the hotel to be finalised but we had a great time and would recommend it. The ski shop downstairs has just opened and we had brand new equipment. All staff were really lovely and polite. I think this hotel may of had teething problems to start with but when we arrived we had a great time. The only downside is all the lifts but once you work out which ones go where they are actually fine. We were in C block on the 9th floor which gave us direct access to the super venosc chairlift so able to ski from our room practically. The town is delightful, so pretty and filled with charm. Eating on the slopes was expensive but the views are beautiful. Try the salted caramel liqueur from Le Comptoir De Mathilde on the Main Street! The pano bar up the top of the jandri express was great for dj and cocktails from 4pm!

Starting with the good: fresh, new place with spacious rooms/apartments (certainly by French ski resort standards). Practical parking in underground garage on property. Walking distance to restos, bars and shops on the main drag. Ski lift just around the corner. Friendly staff. But it could be so much better, with a little effort. In the room/apartment, not a single roll of toilet paper or detergent for the dish washer awaiting new arrivals. Why? It’s not a big effort. Of course guests can get them from the local stores, but some may arrive late in the afternoon, often following a lengthy drive. It’s a little touch of consideration and can make a huge difference for first impressions. The property was also clearly opened a few weeks too early: finishing was done in a hurry or not at all: locks were missing in doors, painting was not completed in some corridors, doors were not closing properly, lighting in external stairs were missing. Cleaning between guests can be improved: we found rubbish left from previous guests (or workers) under the beds, coupled with a bit too much dust for comfort. The outdoor space for rubbish disposal was rather like a communal garbage dump and not really uplifting nor what you would expect from a place that clearly has some ambition of establishing itself as a place of a certain standing. Whilst the staff was invariably friendly, some were pretty clueless and still discovering their new place of employment (e.g. to the question of whether there was a gym in the building, a front desk attendant had to check with a colleague. Not a big thing, but clear that recruiting for the season had been left rather late…). On the question of the gym, the answer was there wasn’t one. Which was a bit of a pity as the property did have some nice facilities such as an outdoor pool, a daycare centre for small kids and a squat for teenagers. All in all, a place with good potential, but a bigger effort needed.

Stayed here for a week at the end of January and have to say it was great! Having read previous reviews, i was worrying that we would experience the arrival and check in melee, rude staff, multiple lifts to get to your room, problems in the room etc. etc. But it was all ok. 4 adults and 2 kids staying in a 3 piece 6 person family room, booked through WeSki, flight out of Luton at 5.45am, private transfer and lift pass included. Simplest ski trip i have ever booked. Being a private transfer in a small van type MPV we were taken up to the entrance of the accommodation - just some stairs to go up to get to the front entrance. If you are on a large coach transfer, it does drop you at the bottom of a small hill/ramp on the main road, which with luggage would be a pain. Checked in with a very friendly member of staff, who showed us to the luggage room as our room wasn't ready yet - and normal check-in time is not until 5pm. Off we went to get some lunch etc. and whilst out we had a call saying that the room was now ready and we could check in if we wanted as the kids must be tired from the early flight - nice touch from the staff. We went back and checked in and we were given a room on the 8th floor in Block B, which does mean a lift from the main reception area up to the 5th floor, out of the lift walk around a corridor into another lift and up to the 8th floor, it's no big deal. Apartment was made up of a double bedroom - with shower and sink, a bedroom with bunkbeds and a double sofa-bed in the lounge, separate bathroom and separate toilet room. Wardrobes/storage in each room. Everything you need to knock up a meal was in the kitchen. Only problem we had was no bottle opener for local red wine, went to reception and was given one straight away by a friendly accommodating staff member who told me to leave it in the room to save me bringing it back down. Towels were one large one and one small one per person for the week, would be nice if they were changed midweek but we made do. You can change them for a fee - 8euro i think - or in the basement by the boot room there is washing machines and dryers that you can use (small fee). You are provided with a couple of toilet rolls, some dishwasher tablets, some washing up liquid and other basics but being self catering, you have to buy everything else you may need - yes that includes the toilet roll for the rest of the week. When checking out we had to ***** the beds and leave linen and towels in the provided bag outside the room and clean the kitchen, which we did and have received full 400euro deposit back. Skis and boots were hired from the SkiSet shop below, and they were all good, staff friendly and helpful. One of my sons boots hurt after day 2, so went and changed them and my other sons skis were a bit long so again we changed them, both times no issues or quarrels. Ski lockers worked perfectly. I have read negatives reviews but I am fussy and it is a lovely hotel. Cons - the hill to the free resort bus may be a struggle if snow covered Pros - Rooms are very clean, bedding etc is clean. You make the beds up and take the bedding off but this isn't an issue. This is our second stay. Now the teens are getting older, we have rebooked a two bedroom for next year. Staff are helpful. The rooms are lovely. For a lovely ski apartment with all you need ski lockers on the ground floor), this is a great choice. The town is very easily accessible from the apartments. Thank you
