Volivoli Beach Resort

The resort has a good mix of room and villa choices. The premium villas are set up as detached bungalows with a patio, living room, kitchenette and washing machine. Villa 970 was advertised as ocean view but the trees and foliage block the view. The villas and hotel, restaurant and hotel office are stacked on the hill. There is a climb to get from the beach to the restaurant, pool and your room. 5-star staff and restaurant staff. General manager, “G”, runs her property as if her staff is family, she cares about them. They all knew our names and personal preferences. Ra Divers, the on-property dive shop, was professional, knowledgeable, accommodating and safe. Highly recommend.

We traveled to VoliVoli with a large group from our local (US) dive shop. The resort itself is beautiful and quiet. Amazing food and the staff and chef go FAR out of their way to accommodate any dietary needs; they even made me a dairy - free mango torte (it was delicious). Pretty much every day after diving we plunked ourselves down at the beach bar and enjoyed the food, the drinks, the beach view, and the company of other divers. We didn't see a TV the entire time we were there, so it truly was a welcome break from reality. Every member of the staff did whatever they could to make it a memorable trip and they surpassed all expectations. I had planned to list some staff members but honestly, every single staff member went out of their way for us. We went out into Rakiraki one afternoon, which I absolutely recommend. It is less expensive to get a taxi but if you can go with tour guide Soni you will learn a great deal about the country and culture. The diving is AMAZING. The Ra Divers staff was professional and knowledgeable . This was my only experience with "valet diving", it truly was full service. I was diving with a new camera set up and our divemaster, Tex, worked REALLY hard to help me find good shots, even holding me stable for a couple of tough ones. Every dive was preceded by a thorough brief. We had a "surprise" dolphin encounter, which was an unexpected high point. My husband and I had an amazing time. This was the "trip of a lifetime" that we saved up for and it was worth every penny and every hour of travel. I'm glad we spent it at Volivoli.

+ Great staff + Fantastic SPA + Great food + Great location to the reef. We did both, snorkeling and scuba - Dive operations were a disaster. They put 20 divers (15 passengers, 5 crew) on one small boat, it was very crammed! They have five boats. Not sure why they did not split us up. - No safety check-in after jumping from the boat into the water. I consider this a standard practice for somebody on the boat to check in with a diver who just entered the water from the boat to avoid the risk of drowning for people who forgot to turn on the tank and have no air in the BCD. - My wife is new to diving. I connected with our divemaster, who was supposed to lead our tour, to make sure that he is aware of that and also carries some extra weight in case she has problems with buoyancy. However, just because we jumped into the water, the captain informed me that our divemaster was not diving because he was not feeling well and assigned us to somebody who was already in the water. That new divemaster also did not carry extra weight, as it turned out. I learned later that our originally assigned divemaster had a hangover from drinking with a guest and was, therefore, not able to dive with us. - After the second dive, the captain did not check in with the guests before taking off. Because the boat was so crammed, a few people were on the roof. They had to hang on for dear life as the boat went at 37 knots (I checked the speed on their console) through choppy water.

We had the most incredible dive vacation ever with all the extras! Our Ocean Front Villa with a comfy bed, Kitchenette, washer and open shower, with a Beautiful sunset every evening was perfect for our 27th anniversary! Besides the 5 Star accommodations, delicious food & wonderful diving, was the outstanding staff!! From the front desk greetings & care to the daily welcoming dinning room service, the most delicious meals with the most accommodating chef, who met with us on day one to take notes on how he could meet our specific dietary needs & a surprise anniversary staff of about 12 who sang the most beautiful Fijian songs & served us a freshly baked whole chocolate cake. Then there was the super friendly diving team staff whose service was some of the best we’ve ever had & over one of our happiest vacations ever! Note: Their new dive boat was fast, lots of storage & the Captains, Divemasters & management were super friendly & accommodating.

Volivoli is the epitome of paradise! The resort is idyllic and the staff friendly, fun and only want the best for their guests! The diving is sensational and the dive operation - Ra Divers - is second to none. The amount of training and regular updating of safety procedures and knowledge ensures absolute peace of mind. The dive crew make your diving experience a lot of fun!! I cannot recommend Volivoli highly enough! We have just booked our fifth visit and plan to continue yearly trips for the foreseeable future.

Travelled from NZ to. Fiji. We go to fiji every 6 monthly. First time in rakiraki, went with my husband and two kids aged 3 and 7 month old. When we approached the restaurant for dinner at day 2 we requested for one of the two tables that were in corner and later saw that one table only had reserved sign. The waitress said we can’t sit on the free table cause that’s reserved as well. We requested that cause we had a stroller so sitting in the corner would have been ideal, however she gave us a table in between which had big spaces around it for ppl to go by even with the stroller. As we sat and were ready to order a lady walked up to the supervisor and pointed to our stroller and was saying something, a bit later the supervisor came to us and requested to move our stroller so there’s more space for guest and no matter what she tried the space was the same, pic attached for reference. The space was ample enough for two ppl to fit in. The supervisor kept on requesting and informed she was the owner who wanted more space between the tables. And we could clearly see the owner sitting and staring at us in utter rudeness, it made us feel like having kids was a big embarrassment and problematic. However the “the owner” kept on staring and my husband just shook his head. Found out later on her name was Gale. Please keep in mind till that duration of our stay we were the only fiji Indians in that whole resort. Attached are the pic of the two tables behind us that were free as well with no one sitting on them till we were there. Please do not go here with kids, it’s not family friendly at all. And I believe in my heart if instead of us if a white couple had sat with their kids it would have been a complete different story. Totally devastated won’t be visiting this resort at all. Staff are friendly but end of the day the owner isn’t and if your having your food with the restaurant and if she doesn’t like what she sees than be ready to leave or adjust according to her preference.
