I made this reservation knowing it was going to be the last days of a 6 day train journey through Switzerland. I selected this hotel because it was away from the city of Interlaken - and seemed to be in a residential area. The website was easy to navigate, and the prices were reasonable. Getting to the hotel was straightforward, take the # 105 bus from the Interlaken West train station - get off the bus at Wilderswil train station and walk about 100 meters. The hotel is actually two buildings connected by a central dining room. The hotel is dated - but it added to the charm the stairs creaked, the doors did not fit tightly in the doorway. The bed was comfortable, pillows soft and the bathroom/shower area had been updated. There were at least 3 restaurants within a 5-minute walk of the hotel. We were supposed to stay 2 or 3 days when disaster hit. On our first morning, my wife thought she had misplaced her purse with passport and credit cards. She believed she left it on one of three trains or a bus that we utilized the previous day. The management and staff jumped to our assistance, contacting Lost and Found at Swiss Rail, and making recommendations. Meanwhile, we are trying to get the authorities on the phone to inquire about getting a replacement passport, while at the same time trying to determine if we needed to cancel credit cards. Fortunately, after about 90 minutes, the purse was found - under a suitcase on a chair in our room. I cannot thank the staff enough for their assistance, advice and understanding. In the midst of all this we learned that our cable car activities for the day had been cancelled due to continuing high winds. That was the final straw - the hotel understood, cancelled the remaining day or two of our reservation and we departed. What makes this hotel so special to me is the staff and management - they really went out of their way, making calls for us, offering us coffee etc. They are just too nice. I hope to return to the area within the next 12 months to take the cable cars up to the nearby mountains and I plan to stay at this hotel and visit the other restaurants in the area.

I stayed solo for one night in June - having stayed elsewhere in the village for 3 nights, so this review is relatively objective. Very conveniently located just a couple of minutes walk from the railway station and directly across the road from the tourist information office (get your regional travel pass here). Limited parking spaces, but I managed. More of a problem later on in the afternoon it seems. Very friendly, helpful and informative reception staff. The public areas of the hotel have retained their traditional features, which is to be welcomed. However, in general, internally the hotel is looking a little tired and worn. The garden, as others have reported, is a delight and so well maintained. The views up the valley towards the Jungfrau are limited by other close by properties. The price to pay for the convenient mid village location. My small single room had a side view (you get what you pay for) and like the corridor, was dated and a little tired with thin curtains. Clean, good quality bed linen and comfortable enough, (as long as you are not taller than 6 feet for the bed). Some evening and early morning road noise - not too intrusive. Bathroom clean and functional with a curtained shower over the bath. Thin towels, Buffet breakfast was to an average standard and quality. The restaurant was welcoming with staff who spoke excellent English. An average menu with average prices. Represented good enough value given the location. Would I stay again? Probably not until the tired areas have been refreshed - I’d be be prepared to pay a premium for this.

We wanted to get away from Zürich for the weekend and booked Jungfrau Hotel for a one night stay. We were warmly welcomed at the reception. The staff was very helpful with information and suggestions on things to do and places to go. Check in was fast and smooth. The stay was serene and peaceful. We got the room we requested for when booking online, on the highest floor with a great view of the mountains. The hotel offered great unblocked views. Location was convenient and bus 105 is available to bring us to Interlaken Ost, which is more touristy with restaurants, pubs and entertainment. The room we had was clean, practical and very clean. We did not try out the restaurant but had breakfast which offered a decent range of food fare and good coffee. Overall, we would stay there again for the warm, friendly staff, lovely location and good room.

We booked Jungfrau Hotel at first didn't know that it's not in the same area. We had to check-in and get the key from Jungfrau Hotel and walk to Alpine Inn. There was no staff at the Alpine Inn, no telephone, if there is any problem we had to send them an email and wait for them to reply. We stayed there for 3 nights and the staff did not refill the amenities (shampoo, bath gel, coffee, tea etc) on the second and third day, we had to email the reception but still the HK staff did not do it until our departure date and 3 emails. The room was quite cold in winter as they used old radiator. The views and the village were amazing, we were on the second floor and had mountain views including Jungfrau from our window. There is a big seating area on the balcony, which I guess would be really nice to sit during summer. The room itself was quite big, clean with all amenities. The second floor has no elevator and we had to carry our luggage up the stairs. After check-out we can leave the luggage at The Jungfrau and go for a little sightseeings before come back for our luggage. Wilderswil is a beautiful village, not far from Interlaken, not busy with tourists, not as expensive and can easily travel to Lauterbrunnen, Grindelwald or other cities. We had to ask the staff during check-in for the travelling card for the free transportation in the area which they should automatically given us when we paid the city tax.

Conveniently far from the bustling town of Interlaken but also close enough to public transport that can get you there in under 20 minutes. The natural beauty here is enough to make you forgive the flight of stairs you have to lug your international luggage up- Ah what’s a rustic inn without some deficiency in technology? No problem. There was a warm welcome note from Erica and Bernard Muller (the inn owners) in the room and I looked forward to meeting them during our 3-night stay. Alas that was not to happen. The bathroom is quite minuscule and the shower only has a thin curtain to keep the water out, so you’re bound to end up with some spillage onto the floor. So as much as I hated to not continue using the same towel for all three days, I had to use it to soak up the water on the bathroom floor. We headed out that morning on our adventures making it a point to leave a ‘Clean my room’ tag outside the door as we left, and handed over the room key at the reception mentioning we’d like the room cleaned. We came back to the same messy room, linen unfolded and wet towels on the bathroom floor. Oh well, the housekeeping must have misunderstood the tag to be ‘Do not disturb’ as can occasionally happen. So we call the reception to ask for a couple of fresh towels sent up and a Ms. Fabian, flatly refuses. She says, we didn’t go into your room since you indicated ‘Do not disturb’ and now you can’t have fresh towels. “ Why do you need a fresh towel everyday? I don’t” she says when we insisted on one. At this point, I completely lose it and walk down the flight of stairs to the reception to demand some towels and Ms. Fabian says, she trusts her housekeeping more than customers when they tell her the DND sign was hung up. ‘It doesn’t matter what you tell at the reception, it matters what sign was out’. She goes on to tell us how ‘certain kind of people’ is always complaining. When probed as to what kind, she asks me where I’m from and then there you go! She probably didn’t understand the concept of ‘denominator’ as most people at the hotel were South Asians. I go on to explain to her that my degree in physics allows me to understand and explain to her that a short pavement and a negligible curtain cannot keep a turbulent stream of water from a hand held shower from at least minimally flooding the bathroom (condescending yes but wait for it!). She says she is too qualified to talk to ‘the likes of you (me)’. A few minutes later (as if upon someone’s instruction) she comes up to the room, fresh towels in hand saying she would like to ‘apologize for her honesty about us people’. All in all that ruined an exhilarating day we had and we were discussing options to move elsewhere, given the fact that agency had already made a f

Highly not recommend as it doesn't match its high price with its service.
