Southall Farm & Inn

My employer gave me a weekend at Southall to celebrate my 25th employment anniversary. From my arrival, I was impressed with the friendliness of the staff. The service and food in both restaurants were excellent, and the Peter Michael Winemaker dinner was delicious and educational. I especially enjoyed the falconry experience, the bee cruise and the spa. My room was very comfortable, and the fireplace in my room was wonderful on the chilly May mornings. There are lots of things to do, and lots of places on the property where you can just curl up with a good book!

Immediately upon arrival at Southall we were met with exceptional service that continued for the duration of our stay. Both restaurants were incredible, as well as the option to have food and drinks delivered directly to your room. We ordered the lamb lettuce wraps multiple times, as well as the burger, both from Sojourner. Our couples massage was amazing and both therapists were incredibly thoughtful and comforting. It was both of our first times getting a massage and both therapists walked us through each step of the massage. The amenities in the spa were all wonderful, especially the heated mineral pool overlooking the lake. We spent several hours relaxing in the spa and left feeling refreshed and rejuvenated. We also visited the speakeasy where had delicious espresso martinis and enjoyed the live music and ambience. Overall, we could not have enjoyed our stay more and did not want to leave! Definitely will be back!

I wanted to reach out to Southall to say thank you for the outstanding time we have had during our visits. We have visited you twice so far. All the outstanding people at Southall work together to make the experience the most enjoyable it can be. It is nice to go somewhere where you are welcomed, and everyone has a smile on their face. Southall creates an atmosphere that helps you let go of the stress from wherever you might have been, home, work, etc. The ease of being there is tremendous. In a sense you disappear into this world that is so easy to be in. If you are looking for a place to relax, enjoy, and walk around with a smile, this is it. It is also nice to walk in the hallways and see the other guests there. People are always saying hello and smiling at you. That is the atmosphere that Southall creates. The food is fantastic. Our large family voted the cheeseburger the best we have ever had; it is fantastic. The new shrimp salad dish is also incredible. Our visit to January was a fantastic experience. You are just not going to go wrong. The speakeasy is also an enjoyable night with live music and fantastic drinks. We did other activities outside, such as the pool and the walking paths. We also had great success at fly fishing. Learning how to do that was such a treat. The individual who that helped us with that was a phenomenal lady. The spa is incredible. The mineral bath and all the other experiences associated with the spa are something you need to explore. The attention to detail in the rooms is incredible. They are so nicely kept, it is as if they are brand new every night. When we were there early one morning, there were people in the outside dining area blowing the leaves, picking up, and power washing the pavement. That's the amount of attention to detail you get at Southall. We cannot recommend Southall highly enough for an enjoyable vacation, whether you want to leisurely stroll the walking paths or try more strenuous activities. Above all, all the individuals that work together to keep the guest experience at the highest level are incredible. Thank you very much.

No house shoes, never got my TV fixed, asked a couple of times. Lots of noise outside my window during the nights. It was very unnerving. I was ready to leave after the first night. However, the food was great and the gym was typical. Nice property, but very overpriced for a really nice hotel!

This was one of the most relaxing Saturday's we've ever had the absolute pleasure of having. The resort itself is one of the most beautiful places we've seen. From the moment we stepped inside until the moment we left, we were treated with the BEST hospitality that we have ever received. Oliver greeted us in the lobby and made us feel right at home. Cory gave us the best property tour where he answered every question in great detail regarding possible wedding spots/location. Katherine and McKenna we're so amazing to speak to about all the bees on property. Paul Flint could not have made things easier for us and went above and beyond to make sure this trip was perfect. The Spa and Sound Bath was so incredibly fulfilling and made the rest of the trip so peaceful. Meeting Chef Nate was also a great pleasure. He is a true master at his craft. We are HUGE foodies and have eaten all over. This was one, if not the BEST dinning experience that we've ever enjoyed. Every flavor, plating and thought went into making these gorgeous/delicious dishes beyond memorable. We cannot wait to return!!!

When my wife explained the concept of a 'babymoon', I quickly got on board. Nestled in the rolling farmland just outside Nashville, Southlall Farm & Inn was the perfect mix of luxury, relaxation, and unique experiences. From the moment we arrived, the beautiful property and warm hospitality put us at ease. We started our trip with a hike around the property. There are paths with guideposts and you can make your way around. Although we stayed at the 'Inn' which is the main hotel part, there are charming little bungalows scattered around the rolling Tennessee hills. Next time we'll be in one of those! After our hike, we hit the spa. My wife did a pre-natal massage while I did a sound bath. It's basically a guided meditation with someone using glass bowls to make soothing, rhythmic noises. I'm sure I'll remember it fondly in three months when my newborn is giving me a much different sound bath. The spa attendant Marvin was exceptional - warm, friendly, attentive (for the record, everyone at this resort could be described that way, but Marvin made an impression). After my wife's pre-natal massage and my sound bath, we relaxed in the mineral pool which has 60 minerals. Is that enough minerals for you? The mineral pool wasn't like other pools - you actually get out feeling really moisturized and hydrated instead of dried out from all the chemicals. After the spa, my wife relaxed on a daybed in the aptly named relaxation lounge, which has a selection of homemade teas and tiny tea cookies. All very luxurious. While she did that, I went to "Tequila & Honey", which was held in Southall's Jammery. Quick aside: Southall makes almost all of their food onsite, including several large greenhouses around the property. They also raise 3 million bees and employ two full-time beekeepers (name one other resort with full-time beekeepers). Anyways, Southall's honey has won lots of awards and this 'experience' was an eight part tasting menu that paired small bites of really good food with various tequilas and honeys. The tasting was led by a chef (forgot his name) and Katherine, the beekeeper, whose enthusiasm for all things honey was infectious. I learned a lot about bees and honey, really interesting stuff, but I also drank a lot of tequila and forgot everything I learned. We ended the trip with dinner at January, the fine dining restaurant within Southall. The food was unbelievable. Much of it grown on site or purchased from local farmers. The highlight for me was the Bear Creek Farm Coppa Steak. I can't even do it justice. Coppa is a cut of meat taken from a pig's shoulder and the chef at January sous vides the meat for 24 hours. It was the moist tender pork I've ever had with a sprinkle of crunchy breadcrumbs on top. My wife summarized the trip really well: Southall is easy to get to but still feels like a getaway.
