I stayed at the Holiday Inn between Christmas and New Year. My friends stayed in the Club Med down the road. Although I joined them for dinner at Club Med, I was genuinely very happy with my stay at Holiday Inn. The room was spacious with a good layout. It had central heating and underfloor heating (lovely after a day of skiing). The room was clean, and I appreciate that the staff offered to change the linen and towels daily, but only on request as they were conscious of the environment. The staff were friendly, but it was difficult with the language barrier as they spoke very limited English and I needed to translate everything.
I was very happy with the breakfast at the hotel, as it had a range of good quality western and Asian dishes. I could easily fill up on this food and not eat again until dinner. If I had have been hungry, I could have visited the little snack shop in the lobby.
Though the hotel is a short 5min walk away from the main ski service hall, there is a ski-in ski-out option from the hotel if you already have equipment. Alternatively, you can ride the free shuttle bus from the hotel to the service hall. The shuttle bus runs every 5-10mins until 10pm, which is very useful as you can also use it to go to dinner and back. Included in the hotel booking, was free entrance to the Japanese hot springs. This is close to the ski hall, so you can take the shuttle. It is wonderful and highly recommended for all ages, especially as it is technically part of the hotel’s stay!
