Wonderful hotel! The room was excellent from the comfortable bed to the luxury touches such as the record player, the spa-like lotions and the quality coffee. The food and drinks at the Pearly Cow and bar were flawless with a cosy and warm atmosphere. Our couple’s spa experience was truly relaxing with attentive staff. The staff in general were very friendly and helpful! The location is only a short walk to the city ramparts and heart of the town - even the walk there takes you past some historic buildings! 10/10, highly recommend.

I visit York regularly and mostly stay in hotels. I decided to do something different this time and stay here. Checkin is through the pub downstairs. The two younger members of staff had no idea what to do when I arrived but the third member of staff took the lead to check me in and bring me to my room. Initial impression of the room was that it was nicely presented, clean and modern. However, I was simply shocked to find that my bathroom had no shower in it. I went back to reception and asked to be assigned a room with a shower but was told no other room was available. So, for the first time in many years, I stayed in a location that didn’t even have the most basic of facilities. If I knew this before I booked here, I certainly wouldn’t have made the booking. In the morning, I asked to have breakfast. It was cooked to order and was delicious. The lady who served me was very efficient and friendly. There’s no air conditioning in the room so I had to have a fan running all night to try to stay cool. So, would I stay here again? Probably not, I’m afraid. The lack of basic facilities is a complete show stopper for me.

This was my first visit to York. The hotel was ideally placed for visiting on foot all the sites as within the city walls. The room was really clean and had a fridge and kettle. It was very quiet and air conditioning on . Comfortable and excellent breakfast. I’d definitely recommend this hotel and would stay there again.

Nothing to complain about. Rooms were clean, reception were friendly. Easy to get to from the train station. Walking distance to everything I needed. I would stay here again if I came back to York as it was a nice hotel for the price. Classic Travelodge experience

We booked a family room with 1 child, but when checking in they were not aware we had a child so the room was not prepared. The receptionist said they will send someone up to sort out the sofa bed. We didn’t mind as we will be out for dinner in the city, but when we got back to our room the sofa bed has still not been made. So off I went to the reception to ask another receptionist can they get the sofa bed made. Than this was done promptly but they didn’t bring the extra duvet or pillow.
This part has let the hotel down on this occasion, we have not been offered anything free for the inconvenience.
Also, if you arrived late in the evening, you will not be able to see the hotel, as they don’t have any light to the hotel name.
The design of the room we are in is a bit odd, toilet is separate to the bath room and the toilet is so small you have to squeeze yourself in to be able to close the door.
The only best thing that we encounter is the bed, very comfy and big.

Once again we have had a great time The staff are always friendly and helpful the breakfast is great York city is easy to reach from Wheatland lodge hotel either by walking or catching a bus we've been here 12 times over the last 3 years and I would definitely recommend this hotel to everyone

Would recommend this to anyone wanting to stay in York. Less than 10 minutes walk from the city walls. Rooms are above a pub that serves food. Excellent pricing compared to others. Clean well appointed rooms. Staff were friendly and helpful. Free parking also which most others don't offer!

What a GREAT FIND this place is... We were in the area for Thirsk Races with Friends & decided on an overnight stay.. So glad we found the George. It's a great pub/hotel in the lovely Market Town of Easingwold.. From my first contact of a telephone booking to checking out, we had a fabulous experience. It is a 'proper quirky old place', we all Loved it.. The Hotel/rooms look to have been refurbished to a high standard recently & both of our rooms were of a good size. Not a straight line or level floor, which just added to our stay. Slept like a baby in a good comfy bed. Luckily I had booked a table for dinner as it is a busy place, but in a nice friendly way. The food was exceptional served by a very friendly team, with a special mention to Ollie who told us he was on his first shift, hope we haven't put him off working in hospitality LOL! Breakfast, cooked to order, served hot & as with dinner, faultless. Top Marks to ALL of 'TEAM GEORGE'.... I've already recommended a stay here to friends & pretty sure we'll be returning at some point in the future.

AAlvinWith the exception of the check in process that was swift and check in agent was proactive , other services were a disappointment , room towels were not replaced properly and when I requested for an ice bucket for a nose bleed, I had to go to the lobby myself as the receptionist told me over the phone that I have to head to the lobby myself as the counter would be unmanned despite knowing of my nosebleed. Quite a disappointment for a brand such as Hilton

PPengguna TetamuThe hotel exceeded our expectation for under door voyeurism. I could watch my girlfriend get changed by looking under the hotel room door, from the public hallway. The curtains were mouldy, and wet. Room was large. Bed was comfortable. Was told that the hotel management would look after us on our next visit but I don’t know why we weren’t looked after in the first place. Why would we come again? 🤷🏽♂️

PPengguna TetamuExcellent location, literally a few minutes walk from the major attractions in York city centre and the train station. The room was very clean and spacious with everything we needed. Very friendly staff let us check in slightly earlier and were really helpful, we could even leave our bags after checking out to save carrying them about all day. The bathroom was a little dated but very clean and had a hairdryer and bath which we like. Child bed was a little low on the ground but functional. The hotel felt very safe as the staff seemed to be around all the time. The bar was nice and calm with lovely views of the river. Plenty little shops such as a little Sainsbury's right around the corner for any supplies. For the money it was excellent and had everything we needed.

CCIt is expected to arrive at the hotel by car. It is really convenient to do park and ride in York. The hotel room was spacious and clean, and the most important is that it is pet friendly too, with an extra £15 per night for the pet.

PPengguna TetamuAt arrival we managed to get the key before the actual check in time. I called the number and the housekeeper very kindly gave me the key card and showed me how to open doors for later on. We were so lucky to have a family room even if it was just the two of us. We stayed in room 3 at ground floor. There was plenty of space and lots of tea and coffee and a small fridge as well. The bathroom is awesome, brand new with a huge shower and very clean. Only thing is the radiators in the room do not work so there is a heater. The room was quite warm but maybe it would be better to have a different heating system for winter. We like staying in Fulford because it's much quieter than the city centre. The bus stop is very close and busses run every 15 minutes. Perfect for us!

Ddashv1llWe had a lovely stay at Diamonds Inn. We booked the Standard Suite, Ensuite 3-bed room which is located at the top floor of the building. A very quaint compact en-suite family room great for a group of friends or family. All basic amenities are there including towels, shampoo and shower gels. There’s also an electric water kettle, coffee/tea, hair dryer and a small fridge! Beds are soft and comfy. Walls are thin and may hear voices of other guests in the halls during the day but was not a major issue during our stay, mostly quiet after 10pm. Location is very convenient as its only a stones throw away from one of the famous wall entrances, a pub and restaurant across and York Minster. Host was lovely and friendly as well, called to ask if we can get an early check-in and was happy to accommodate us.
