The accommodation proved adequately satisfactory for my needs as I was travelling without my family. The room, although compact, had everything I needed. I did, however, have to search for the kettle, which I discovered in the wardrobe. I didn't find the toiletries that were advertised, but as I'd brought my own, this wasn't a major problem. I found the toilets and showers spotless, and the provision of a towel was welcomed, although I, again, had brought my own. The breakfast was superb, with plenty of variety, and set me up for the day. One gripe I did have was the sockets; one nearer the bed would have been ideal rather than making my way across the room to turn my alarm off. Another gripe, although not the hostel's fault, was other guests' inability to close doors with letting bang. (NOT hard to do if you push the handle down and slowly close the door from a short distance rather than letting it swing from the fully open position. All in all an enjoyable stay.

Due to a busy thresher's week I couldn't book my regular hotel in York. The Stableside hotel was very helpful and Chris (Duty Manager) made me feel very welcome and comfortable during my short stay. My room was very clean and I got a good nights sleep in a king size bed. Breakfast was very good with plenty of choice and great coffee. I would recommend this hotel for its reasonable price rooms and great customer service.

Staff have been lovely, Room was spotless on arrival and plenty of car parking space! Beds are really comfy and breakfast was great, lots of variety! Location is far enough from the city centre that's it quiet but also on a bus route so no issues getting into town and there's a pub restaurant on the street just opposite the entrance. However, don't forget your hairdryer! Our room was small, bathroom small, myself and 3 kids did feel a bit on top of each other and lived out of the cases as there wasn't enough room to hang everything up or anyway to put anything to be honest but we were only spending 2 nights so wasn't that big a problem.

Lovely en-suite room, comfy bed and facilities. We had a long weekend stay great base for visiting York centre and day trips. Located on a bus route to the centre Plentiful breakfast available with loads of choices. There were families and business travellers staying. Pubs with lovely food just up the road and fish and chip shop for an easy takeaway. Staff were lovely and approachable.

Ww visited York for a weekend, busy city so we chose this accommodation 1,7 miles away from York. It's a good walking distance for us but reachable by bus. Fair room, we stayed separate beds, good breakfast for the price. Just besides the York racecourse, a couple of pubs where to eat at lunchtime, free car park.

Stayed here a few times and it’s always great! Clean, comfortable rooms, friendly staff and very good breakfasts. It is very reasonably priced especially for York. The hotel is well located for exploring York, with the racecourse right next door and frequent bus service into town centre that goes from very near the hotel too. The staff are so helpful, we did the park run and they saved us a full English each for after as we were going to miss breakfast. All staff encountered were lovely and really made our stay.

I would highly recommend a stay at Stableside. A lovely laid back approach, very dog friendly. Treats left at reception for dogs, even offered the dog a sausage at breakfast which really added a personalised touch. The breakfast included was lovely. Plenty of choice of food and drinks. Facility to take coffees away on your onward journey. The room we stayed in was gorgeous, comfortable and clean. Situated in a gorgeous spot, a morning walk on York racecourse, a beautiful way to begin the day. Plenty of transport links into town, and only a 35-40 min walk to York minster. This is a great option for a very dog friendly stay, thank you to everyone for making it such a lovely experience.

Checked into their Stableside studio for 7 nights. The studio itself was clean and comfortable with a bathroom suite. Privacy though was an issue as, on one occasion, workmen were banging on the studio door trying to gain entry. Next thing two workmen had let themselves in with keys (with staff assistance) later apologising for the intrusion!!! Apparently they were there to check the smoke alarms. Reception had not notified me of this beforehand. Totally unprofessional!!! In fact 24/7 reception manning does not exist at this venue. Won’t be coming back!!!

Went on Fri night got there for round 7.15pm and parking was no problem when we got there someone welcomed us in reception and give details and our key card we went to the room and the room was verru good a big double bed axn comfy bedding and a single bed which was a good size and comfy the ensuite was good as well towel and toiletries provided we went for something to eat and top of the drive way there's pubs what serves meals and a chippy and Chinese slept well and was quiet come morning the breakfast was good full English eat all u want cereals toast fruit and yogurt and u are able to get drinks like tea coffee and hot chocolate to take out or drink in restaurant shut at 9pm and breakfast 7.30am-9.30am would def recommend it and would stay again
