Nice clean and quiet place, has pool and gym, did not breakfast in as I never do, only complaint was hidden £10 per day parking charge hmmm took the shine off our stay

Friendly staff. Everything in the room is neat, tidy and clean, including toilet and towels. Provide parking with a small fee.

Instead of a single room, we were put in a huge triple room. Everything is great, no complaints

#negative #I was disappointed with the Mosquito control measures, Bed comfort level, Toiletries, Natural light in the room; The room is old and broken, the waiter has a bad attitude! Not recommended, will not come to live in the future!

Well I arrived at the hotel and was greeted by a very friendly woman at reception. The hotel is very old and grand but as I made my way upstairs with the lady and was shown my bedroom I was left feeling very deflated. I went downstairs to ask for an upgrade which I got. I decided to read some reviews. I know a bit late but I've been so busy lately. And shocked to hear about bed bugs. That kept me awake all night. Then there is a smell in the bathroom and mould at the back of the toilet. Very sad. Plus you have to get tea and coffee from landing and no nibbles. This hotel is sadly lacking in care and extremely overpriced next to the Radisson which I almost stayed in. Wish I had. I'm here for a two day conference but don't feel rested at all. Whilst I accept the sheets look clean the rest of the hotel is in urgent need of repair. I'm only glad I was staying here for one night.
Jawapan daripada Pihak Penginapan: We are all very sorry you did not enjoy your stay. Just to clarify you booked a single bedded room but then asked for an upgrade which you were made to pay for. I do not know why you are surprised that we have had in the passed bed bugs they are unfortunately all over the place and although every precaution is taken by the hotel the chance is the next guest unwittingly may bring a new infestation with them. The hotel is an older building and is indeed of 3 star standing the Radisson group to which you preferer are mainly 4 star and that carries a premium price. I am sorry we offer all the tea and coffee you may need instead of a couple of sachets in your room I can see how this can be such an inconvenience walking a few meters to get rather than going to the reception for more or perhaps calling for more to be delivered. The hotel is serviced by all the main delivery companies so if you felt hungry you could have ordered your choice of foods from around the world.

Unfortunately we couldn't stay the night and had to leave at 1.30am, waking our 2 year old up as there were bed bugs crawling all over him. Upon further inspection, we noticed both bed were crawling with bed bugs. There were no staff on reception to offer us a change of room so we had to leave. Avoid this hotel!

The hotel takes this matter very seriously and takes every step to ensure guests have a pleasant stay with us. The hotel is manned 24 hours a day and although the reception is not manned at night we do have the emergency phone on reception for guests to use or a call to the hotels phone number from a room or a mobile works equally well. This is not the first time we have had this problem but it is the first time in the part of the building you stayed in. As with all other cases we have destroyed all the bedding and Mattresses from the room and used a multitude of chemicals to eradicate the problem. This approach has worked well for us on the two other cases we have had and the problem has not returned in any of the rooms previously treated. All rooms are inspected regularly for any signs of infestation of any kind but with the best will in the world this particular bug is hard to spot. Having said that the mattress in your room was clear of any sign of infestation. leading us to believe this was a new and recently developed case mainly on the carpet. Once again I am sorry for the inconvenience caused to your family but reiterate that we do all we can to avoid problems of this kind but with the amount of visitors from all over the world the hotel caters for it is always possible that new problems are brought into the property.

Best Western by name but far from best on accommodation. Externals paint a fairly accurate picture of our room (17), in serious need of modernisation and dated. No idea when but they have started large extension to the rear but looks like nothing happened for a long time based on weeds around the building site. Car park is a mess and not fit to charge £10.00 for as it is part of building site. Staff friendly and helpful which is the only positive from our stay. Room is a 1980's museum, and poorly maintained bathroom, clean but fusty smell. Bed surprisingly comfortable but poor night sleep due to badly fitted door and light into room. No way to manage the room temperature with a plug in fan which made no difference to uncomfortable temperature. Bathroom window lacked privacy from window on access ramp to car park as blind missing. Bathroom is in a serious need to be refitted, decoratrd and modernused. Shower and water pressure great likd a fire hose but hot watet on sink dangerously hot and needs checking & turning down. Self service table in hallway for tea and coffee unusual but handy for us as literally outside our room Did not get chance to use facilities such as pool, bar, restaurant as we were at York races so can't comment on. Summary, Best Western Kilima, finish extension ASAP and close and refurb original hotel. Good location for race course circa 25 minute walk or £6.00 taxi.

We booked 3 single rooms and got 3 lovely spacious double rooms. From the time we booked in till we left 4 days later the staff and hotel were lovely they advised we're to go and buses to catch a bus stop across the road takes you into the city. The breakfast is excellent everyone was so friendly I would recommend this hotel and we will book again in the future

Best western-no-worst western!! The bed linen was stale smelling, Cheap pillows, stained duvet and a 10.5 in the summer, really!! Our room was melting so we used the fan which actually didn't help at all. This hotel does not serve evening meals and it is a good 20/25 minutes from York centre. The breakfast room, bar and swimming pool are in the basement, there are no lifts. If anyone has a disability or trouble walking do not go here. The bedroom we were in had a low ceiling and was stuffy, you still open the doors to the rooms with a Yale key. The hotel closes the front door at 10pm every night, again a Yale is required to get in. The breakfast was nice but way too much food on a plate for one person. Nice staff shame about the hotel, it's in a residential area on the main road. It's time best western we're closing up shop here and chucking the keys away. Sorry but it's a tired place badly in need of updating. There were 8 guests for breakfast, says it all.

Staff really friendly pool was lovely as was the steam room made to feel really welcome. Parking was £10 on top of room price which was £65 with breakfast included a total bargain in my opinion. Place and rooms are a bit dated but for that money who cares.

Firstly, we were greeted by a wonderful and friendly lady, who told us about all the amenities of the hotel and she even showed us to our room. Yes, the decor was a little old fashioned think 90s, but that didn't impact on our lovely stay, large king-size bed that was so comfortable, we did have a little issue with the sink but a very friendly caretaker took care of it and very quickly. The cleaning staff were also very friendly and often gave you a cheerful good morning. The location for us was great, about a 10 minute walk to the Micklegate. We would definitely stay here again. They have parking, which is £10 a day, but that's a bargain, considering some car parks in York charge £3.95 an hour. Thanks for the lovely stay.

Shower over bath is so outdated and poor spray. Room was tired and in need of refurb. no plug sockets near the bed to recharge phone. could not turn bedside lights on individually it was either both or neither. We booked via the hotel website but still had to pay £20 for parking as we did not book over the phone even though we could not get them to answer the phone. Owner/Manager was arrogant and passive aggressive in his tone. When I did eventually get to talk to someone over the phone the day before we arrived I was told "I'm only a poor inn keeper"

Lovely quiet traditional hotel, short walk from city walls. Rooms cozy and comfortable. Clean throughout hotel including adequate gym, warm pool and Hot steam room.Breakfast well organised waited service. All friendly helpful staff. Need to book direct for free parking as York City limited parking. Visited twice will return .
