the date we stay was a new year eve, the traditional Japanese will stay at home but the staffs are still very professional and friendly, restaurant is opened freely for resident which bring the food from outside. It was good to and highly recommended

Super convenient, the hotel is located two minute walk from Takayama station on the way it is fully covered so there’s no worry during a snowstorm like when I was there. Service was also amazing staff met the guest with a smile and when I didn’t have an umbrella, I was offered umbrellas for loan straightaway for free. The hotel also has its own Onsen and it was very convenient to see it crowdedness through the TV in your own room. There’s also a rest area where you can enjoy the view of Takayama from the top of the building and a foot spa for those who can’t do the full body hot spring which is very good for people.

The hotel is large and spacious, with three interconnected buildings featuring an onsen, or hot spring, on the sixth floor. The breakfast room's capacity is somewhat limited; we were seated on the third floor, a ballroom repurposed for breakfast, while the typical restaurant is on the second floor. Although the food is the same, the third-floor location lacks the ambiance and view of the second floor. While I understand that the hotel has many guests during peak hours, allowing guests to choose their seating would be preferable. We are not in a rush and are willing to wait; Japanese guests tend to eat quickly anyway. The room and hot spring were satisfactory, though unremarkable. The hotel's location is not convenient to the train station. If you are traveling by train, this should be considered, even though a shuttle bus runs hourly.

This hotel is conveniently accessible to Takayama and its surroundings. The hotel amenities are unexpectedly excellent. They even have a bar area that serves beverages including those with alcohol. Car-parking is also provided.

The service was excellent. I especially want to praise the front desk lady that day, because we lost something at the previous hotel the night before, and the hotel's telephone customer service could only speak Japanese, so we couldn't communicate. The front desk lady of this hotel was very patient in helping us. It took up a lot of his time, but she was always very enthusiastic. The hotel also offers indoor and outdoor hot springs, and the restaurant in the hotel also serves good food. The breakfast in the morning was also delicious with a lot of variety. It was a very pleasant stay experience.

**Hotel Review** Unfortunately, my experience at this hot spring hotel did not meet expectations. The dinner service was particularly lacking. The food had already been set up in the room before we arrived, and the waiter offered minimal assistance, only asking if we had lit the fire. There was no explanation of the dishes, nor was a menu provided. To make matters worse, the necessary cutlery for different courses was repeatedly overlooked, which detracted from the overall dining experience. The food itself was unremarkable and didn’t compare to what other hot spring hotels typically offer. The private onsen also posed a challenge. The water switch was broken, leaving no way to adjust the temperature or water flow, resulting in water that was uncomfortably hot throughout our stay. Breakfast the next morning was very basic and lacked the variety or creativity I’ve come to expect from similar establishments. Overall, the hotel did not live up to the standards I’ve experienced elsewhere and left much room for improvement.

While the hotel had many appealing features, several aspects fell short of expectations. Firstly, the hotel's policy requiring guests to walk barefoot or in socks was problematic due to the cleanliness of the floors. The surfaces did not seem well-maintained, which detracted from the overall experience. I was particularly let down by the private bath. The two only available tubs was filled with bleach, which was concerning and not suitable for relaxation. Additionally, there were no shower facilities provided for rinsing off before or after soaking in the onsen. This made the experience less enjoyable, as I couldn't clean myself immediately before or after enjoying the hot springs. Furthermore, the reservation system for the private baths was poorly organized. There was no clear queue, leading to confusion and frustration among guests who were waiting their turn. Overall, the taste of dinner and breakfast was average, but the environment and service was quite good. Although the hotel offered many attractions and amenities, the execution left much to be desired. Overall, my stay was a case of having high expectations that were not met. I hope the hotel can improve these aspects in the future to provide a better experience for its guests.

This hotel exceeded our expectation! It is very near the Nohi Bus station and the JR Takayama station (3-5 min walk). Although we just stayed overnight, we had a memorable experience in Takayama Ouan. The hotel has a lot of freebies for their guests. They have a booth in the lobby where guests can get free brewed coffee, hot tea, and green lemon iced tea. They also provide free socks since the hotel have tatami flooring. What we also loved about this hotel is the onsen (separate public onsen for male and female, and 3 private onsen). They also have a freezer where guests can get free iced cream after bathing. During past 9 pm, they also have free ramen for their guests. The room is spacious, and the view from our window is also nice (the roads and establishments covered with snow). Aside from the free stuff and great amenities, we also appreciate the kind and friendly staff members. We accidentally lost the luggage claim tag (and we are willing to pay for it) but they didn't charge us anything. When we go back to Takayama, we will definitely stay here again.

A family of 6 with 4 kids. We stayed in 2 rooms and they granted our request for rooms next to each other. Rooms were ok with working hot shower, towels, toothbrush and toiletries. Coffee and tea were also free. Japanese breakfast was a welcome surprise and we got to enjoy a snowy view of Takayama station while sipping freshly-brewed coffee. The hotel itself is old-ish and so are the facilities. There's a laundromat, massage chairs and a drugstore beside the hotel. There's also a Family Mart convenience store that's walking distance. It is directly across Takayama Station so it's in a very convenient location!

Very good location close to JR station; there is a super markets and loads of restaurants nearby! Will stay again next time!

Hotel is abit dated. But location is very good. Just opposite Gifu train station. Family Mart is just below the hotel. The hotel provide free simple western buffet breakfast.

清潔感があり過ごしやすい部屋でした。玄関扉のすぐ脇に姿見がありましたが、別途テーブル周りに化粧用の鏡があるとありがたいです。

We booked for two single beds in one room. Room is clean and comfortable. Fridge is underpowering. Very standard services. Hotel staff are very helpful and capable of simple english communication. Two USB-A charging ports and one electric socket can be found close to the head of bed.

We opted for the standard Japanese style room with experience sleeping on the futons which was an experience. Onsen facilities were great and offered certain degree of privacy during winter season. Not much of the Nagawagara river view given its winter

Walking distance from the station. Our triple room is quite spacious for us 3 adults. Many convenience stores nearby. Overall very satisfy with our stay.

服務和環境都滿意，位置方便從岐阜站一路經天橋就可直達酒店無需上落。溫泉金華の湯好滑，溫度舒適好浸，也有洗衣乾衣機提供。溫泉後可享用免費冰棒，免費夜宵拉麵如常美味，朋友吃了自費早餐也很滿意。唯獨雙人床房比較狹窄，一大一中喼不夠位完全打開，還有開冷氣空調會有噪音，改為暖房功能才回復安靜，但到半夜兩點會自動關閉，幸好被子夠暖也舒適，起床時要穿上外套保暖。

The parking was limited. It was full by the time I got there.. luckily there were other paid public parking spots nearby.

Excellent! Very satisfied for this onsen hotel!! Definitely recommend this accommodation to friends and family. Everything is over expectation: services, facilities, room, public bath (onsen), food, and all. One drawback would be language barrier between some staff, but they really trying to communicate with us which is impressive. Also, there is a free shuttle bus service between train station and hotel during daytime, very convenient. Tips for me is to book this hotel on weekdays, it is half price cheaper than weekends or holidays.

Very good experience and staff are very professional especially Mr Taku Yamada as he went the extra mile to accommodate my request to provide me western bed instead of rokan. Hotel is very nice clean n unique with pulley type lift. Good buffet spread. Definitely a good value for money stay.

初めて利用しましたがここのホテルは非組合だったので電車で現地に向かいました。 下呂駅からはシャトルバスを予約していたのでホテルまでの送迎はしてくれました。 部屋は広くて綺麗でした。 食事は夕飯と朝食がバイキング(ビュッフェ)でした。 平日なのに利用者が多くて夕飯の予約時間が17時か20時の二択でした。 食事を取る時も争奪戦みたいにみんなガツガツしてて残念ですけど次はもう無いです！ お風呂は内湯と外湯とサウナが有りました。 大衆的なホテルなので値段重視ならいいと思います。

Saya membuat tempahan saat akhir dan terus ke Gero Onsen! Lawatan pertama saya ke Gero Onsen. Ia sangat bagus. Restoran itu bersih kerana sebahagiannya telah diubah suai dan makanannya sangat enak. 일본의 정취를 느낄수 있었습니다. 아침식사 뛰어나고 저녁식사는 조금 아쉬운 느낌.. 방은 충분했고 온천이 작지만 사람수도 작아서 거의 대부분 혼자 이용했습니다.

낡기는 했지만 깨끗하고 방에는 샤워실이 있고 공용으로 온천으로 사용할 수 있는 욕조가 있어요. 1인용으로 시간되면 따로 온천 가지 말고 여기에서 간단하게 즐기는것도 나쁘지 않아요. 사진은 트윈인데 혼자 사용해서 침대 하나방 세팅되어있어요
