Mostar: Most and Mosque
Used Trip.com to find a trip from 🇨🇿 to 🇧🇦 for less than €10! I flew into Tuzla, stayed in Sarajevo and took a day trip to Mostar (pictured). Although the public transportation was less documented in terms of timetables, I had no trouble at all getting around by bus and train. What a beautiful country of both people and landscape- I will certainly be returning!
Mostar has long been known for its old Turkish houses and Old Bridge, Stari Most, after which it is named. In the 1990s conflict,

Mostar Old Bridge
Stari Most, also known as Mostar Bridge, is a rebuilt 16th-century Ottoman bridge in the city of Mostar in Bosnia and Herzegovina that crosses the river Neretva and connects the two parts of the city.
On 9 November 1993 Stari Most collapsed due to shelling by the Croatian Defence Council during the Croat–Bosniak War. In 2017, the appeal court deemed that destruction was legal since the bridge was a military target as the opposing Army of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina used it as a military supply line. Subsequently, a project was set in motion to reconstruct it; the rebuilt bridge opened on 23 July 2004.
We were lucky to do a day trip here on a beautiful sunny day from Dubrovnik, Croatia. We had a lovely stroll in the old town, crossing Stari Most, stopped for a delicious local lunch and had enough time to walk down to the river for the spectacular views and photos of the bridge.
MOSTAR, HERZEGOVINA 🇧🇦
The largest city in Herzegovina, Mostar is nevertheless small and enchanting, an Ottoman-era gem centred on the Neretva River.
It is famous for its Stari Most, a stone, arched bridge built in the 16th century. It was destroyed during the Bosnian conflict in 1993 and rebuilt in 2004. Built from local pale stone, it arches steeply and is a popular jumping off spot for brave – some would say reckless – divers. The nearby alleys are full of shops and market stalls, the focus for much of the life in the city. A narrow staircase leads up to the Koski Mehmed Pasha Mosque’s minaret, perfect for panoramic city views.#urbanexplorer #mytripvlog #tripblazers #cafe #summervacation

The water fall looks amazing and it is good for photos and swimming. The weather can be very hot so make sure you bring enough water and sunscreen.
