Located in the northwest of Saudi Arabia, the tourist destination AlUla (AlUla) welcomes a new series of hot air balloons. These balloons, adorned with the iconic landscapes of AlUla, dot the sky with vibrant colors, adding enchanting charm to the ancient realm. The Hero Balloon Flights offer an extraordinary perspective to overlook the magnificent landscape of AlUla from the sky, starting in October 2023. The newly added hot air balloons, through the world's largest full-digital printing process, vividly display pioneering pattern designs, accurately restoring the unique charm of AlUla, and bringing an unparalleled sensory experience to passengers and onlookers. The new hot air balloons include three themed designs that vividly depict AlUla's natural wonders and cultural heritage: 1. Hegra: Breathtaking historical relics. Hegra is Saudi Arabia's first UNESCO World Heritage site, covering 52 hectares. The ancient tombs standing in the desert tell the epic story of AlUla. Floating in a hot air balloon above Hegra, enjoy the unique perspective of natural magic. 2. Arabian Leopard Day: The eye-catching image of the Arabian leopard. The Royal Commission for AlUla (RCU) of Saudi Arabia works together to preserve precious natural heritage and strive to restore ecological balance. This hot air balloon showcases the biodiversity of AlUla and also aims to draw global attention to the endangered Arabian leopard. 3. Khaybar: Exquisitely depicted volcanic terrain. For years, aviation archaeologists and photographers have tirelessly explored the stories of this lush oasis, using cutting-edge technology to find historical answers. Today, these unique geographical features make a stunning appearance above AlUla. AlUla, located in the Medina Province, is 1100 kilometers from the capital Riyadh and boasts an extremely rich natural and cultural heritage. Covering an area of 22,561 square kilometers, AlUla has a vast territory and diverse geological structures. The lush valley oases, towering sandstone mountain ranges, and historical and cultural sites that have stood for thousands of years, record the past of the Lihyan and Nabataean kingdoms' rule. One of AlUla's famous landmarks, Hegra, is the first cultural site in Saudi Arabia to be included in the UNESCO World Heritage List. This ancient city, which covers 52 hectares, was once the main southern city of the Nabataean Kingdom. More than a hundred tombs in Hegra are still well preserved today, and the sandstone carvings surrounding their facades remain as fresh as ever. AlUla also has many other fascinating historical and cultural heritages, including: the ancient Dadan (Dadan) -- the capital of the Dadan and Lihyan kingdoms, considered one of the most developed cities on the Arabian Peninsula in the first century BC; Jabal Ikmah, known as the 'open-air museum' for its hundreds of inscriptions in different languages; the labyrinthine old town of AlUla, consisting of over 900 mud-brick houses that can be traced back to at least the 12th century; and the key locations in the story of 'Lawrence of Arabia,' such as the Hejaz Railway and the Hegra Fort.
