After visiting the Maeklong Railway, head to Amphawa Floating Market, which is nearly two hours away from downtown Bangkok. This floating market, which is known as the most down-to-earth one, is made up of nearly a hundred-year-old wooden boathouses and wooden corridors. Traditional Thai snacks, desserts, and boat noodles are available to fill your hungry stomach. I like Wu Heshun’s egg tarts and milk tea. Many Teochew Chinese immigrated to Thailand, and it is now run by three generations. The milk tea is not too sweet and goes well with the egg tarts. Even better is taking a walk on the wooden corridor in the evening, when the setting sun shines on the river, as if sprinkling a layer of gold powder, which fascinates the travelers.
