Atami Tourism: Kinomiya Shrine

#FuriTabi Kunomiya Shrine has long been called Kunomiya Daimyojin, the deity of the landlord of Atamigo, and is enshrined in Kunomiya. It has long been worshipped as a deity of good fortune and good luck. Kunomiya Shrine's sacred tree, the "Okusu", which has been designated a national natural monument, is over 2,000 years old and was recognized as the second largest tree in Japan in a survey by the Ministry of the Environment in 1992. People are in awe of its impressive trunk, which is about 24 meters in circumference, and naturally join their hands in prayer. When the enshrined deity Isotake no Mikoto was enshrined in Atami, he conveyed a divine message to protect the local people and travelers who come to the shrine, so many travelers who come to Izu visit the shrine.
