Italy The Sky City of Civita di Bagnoregio

🇮🇹Italy The Sky City of Civita di Bagnoregio It holds seven parts of Western Europe's fantasy It is known as the 'most real sky mirror' Italy Civita di Bagnoregio Located about 120 kilometers north of Rome Built 2500 years ago This is a medieval castle perched on a hilltop Less than 300 meters long Only 200 meters wide Connected to the outside world by a narrow pedestrian bridge From a distance 'The Sky City' is embedded on a hilltop hundreds of meters away Surrounded by low-lying river valleys The mountain city is steep and abrupt In the foggy season The entire city is shrouded in clouds Only part of the buildings on the top of the mountain are exposed The looming castle Seems to float in the air Hence it is called 'The Sky City'

Civita di Bagnoregio

Sitting on a plateau of friable volcanic tuff, Civita di Bagnoregio is frequently named “The Dying Town” because of the incessant erosion, so there’s only a handful of citizens here. The view from Bagnoregio is as impressive as you might expect. Photos don’t make justice to this gem, and a visit should be on every serious traveler of Italy. Accessing to the beautiful historic centre is made possibile only by a foot bridge, every other road is just non-existent. Inside the hamlet ou can spot lots of details from its Etruscan past and the while place is very well preserved despite a recent revival in tourism that constantly brings crowds from all over the world, and sometimes this makes local residents a little nervous when their privacy is broken. Tip: Book a night in one of the several bed and breakfasts for a very romantic trip! #italy #italytravel #italybeauties #lazio #travel #civitadibagnoregio #awesomepic
