Bangkokian Museum (BKK Museum)

The Bangkokian Museum, also known as the Bangkok Local Museum in Bang Rak District, is a new perspective tourist attraction in Bangkok. It was established according to the purpose and intention of Professor Waraporn Surawadee, the owner, who wanted to organize her house and the inherited property from her mother, Mrs. Sa-ang Surawadee (Tanboonlek), into a museum for future generations to study. After organizing the items, Professor Waraporn donated the house to the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA). Subsequently, the BMA developed the house into a pilot project to support the policy of having local museums in each district. The exhibition format includes buildings and objects that tell the story of the lifestyle of middle-class Bangkokians before and after World War II.
