Gulmarg -The Heaven

Gulmarg, often referred to as the "The Heaven" is a popular hill station located in the northern Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir. I had the opportunity to visit this picturesque destination recently and it was truly a trip of a lifetime. From the moment I arrived, I was captivated by the natural beauty and serenity that enveloped Gulmarg. Day 1: Arriving in Srinagar and journey to Gulmarg My journey to Gulmarg began with a flight to Srinagar, the summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir. As I stepped out of the airport, I was greeted by cool breeze and breathtaking views of the snow-capped mountains. From there, I hired a taxi to Gulmarg, which took around two hours. The journey was nothing short of captivating, as we drove through lush green valleys and winding roads. 2: Exploring the Gondola ride The next day, I headed to the iconic Gulmarg Gondola, one of the highest cable cars in the world. As I ascended up the first phase of the gondola, I was treated to panoramic views of the surrounding Himalayan peaks and the verdant meadows below. The second phase of the ride took me even higher, offering a bird's-eye view of Gulmarg and its snow-covered landscape. The experience was simply exhilarating and a must-do for anyone visiting Gulmarg. 3: Skiing in Apharwat Peak One of the highlights of my trip was skiing in Apharwat Peak, situated at an altitude of 13,780 feet. Gulmarg is a paradise for skiing enthusiasts, with its powdery snow and pristine slopes. I hired a ski instructor to guide me through my first skiing experience. The thrill of gliding down the slopes, surrounded by majestic mountains, is something I will never forget. The well-maintained ski facilities and the stunning views made it an unforgettable adventure. In conclusion, my trip to Gulmarg in Kashmir was nothing short of a dream come true.
