Palau de la Música Catalana

Built by Domènech i Montaner between 1901-1908, the construction is extremely ornate, with details filling the ceiling, and the use of mosaics is very mature, showcasing opulence and beauty. Montaner was Gaudí's teacher during his school years and a leading figure in Catalan Modernism. His architecture integrates rationalism and is influenced by the exquisite decorations of Spanish-Arabic architecture, following the typical curvilinear design of the Art Nouveau movement. Both his Hospital de Sant Pau and this Palau de la Música Catalana have been listed as UNESCO World Heritage Sites.
