Historical art pieces in Barcelona’s museum

The National Art Museum of Catalonia (MNAC as it goes in Spanish) guards a large collection of art pieces from hundreds of years ago. The exhibition halls inside the building are divided in three historical periods: Romanesque, Gothic and Renaissance, Modern Art. As the exhibits follow a historical chronology it is recommended to start the visit at the Romanesque Hall, where one can witness mostly artworks of religious topics. Continuing towards the Gothic and Renaissance Hall the line of religious artworks continues here, however can find pieces that are a lot more decorated and opulent than in the previous hall.
