Xishiku Cathedral, with over 300 years of history, is the largest Catholic church complex in Beijing. Xishiku Cathedral is a unique blend of Chinese and Western architecture. The main body is a three-story Gothic structure, topped with 11 spires, and the building's floor plan is in the shape of a cross. On either side of the main entrance, there are two Chinese-style pavilions with yellow glazed tile roofs, housing the imperial edict of the relocation of the Catholic church in the fourteenth year of Guangxu (1889) and the bilingual stele of the Catholic church. Inside Xishiku Cathedral, there are 300 massive columns supporting a golden vaulted ceiling, and 80 stained glass windows. The sunlight shining through these windows casts vivid colors, adding to the solemnity and atmosphere of the entire church.
