This was once the cathedral of the Catholic Archdiocese of Beijing

"Xishiku Church" also known as: North Church, was once the cathedral of the Catholic Archdiocese of Beijing, located at No. 33 Xishiku Street. The church was originally built in the 32nd year of Emperor Kangxi of the Qing Dynasty (1693), and because it was initially located at the Silkworm Pool, it was commonly known as the Silkworm Pool Church. In the 13th year of Emperor Guangxu of the Qing Dynasty (1887), it was moved to Xishiku. The main body of the church is a Gothic-style building, with a total of 11 spires on the top, and the building plan is in the shape of a cross. On both sides of the church's main entrance, there are two stele pavilions, which respectively house the imperial edict of the relocation of the Catholic Church in the 14th year of Emperor Guangxu (1889) and the bilingual stele of the Catholic Church in Manchu and Chinese.
