This is the first impression of Bucharest, the capital of Romania. Bucharest is an ancient city with a long history, which has been recorded in historical documents for more than 500 years. It is located on the Wallachian Plain in southeastern Romania and has always been the capital of the Principality of Wallachia. Since the founding of Romania, it has been the capital of the republic and the political, economic, and cultural center. Between the two world wars, it was called "Little Paris" because of its beautiful boulevards, buildings, and elegant life of the upper class, which shows the prosperity of the city in those days. In Romanian, Bucharest means "City of Joy." After the destruction of World War II and the construction of a large number of monotonous and simple buildings during the Communist Party's rule, Bucharest has become a mixture of old and new. Slightly dilapidated buildings, scattered figures, and the chill of winter make it impossible for this place to be the focus of our trip. However, I have always liked to explore old streets and alleys, so I can't miss the old city with a strong medieval European style. The Dambovita River is a tributary of the Danube River. Although it is inconspicuous and not as wide as the Tongzi River around the Forbidden City in Beijing, it flows through the city with the romance of the Danube River, bringing vitality to the city. I found a Starbucks by the river and sat down to enjoy my breakfast on the first day of the lunar new year. The sun rose higher and higher but was not dazzling. The slanting sun in the winter morning dyed the whole Dambovita River golden, and countless water birds startled by the footsteps of pedestrians shuttled back and forth in the golden light and morning mist.
