Spend the summer in Xinjiang and visit the beautiful and enchanting Kanas scenic area

Visiting Xinjiang in the summer, you must plan a tour of the Kanas scenic area. We spent two full days there, the first day exploring Wolong Bay, Moon Bay, Fairy Bay, and the Fish Viewing Pavilion, and the second day heading to Baihaba Village. It was not enough; three or four days would be more leisurely and enjoyable, allowing for a visit to Hemu Village. The scenery of Kanas Lake is stunningly beautiful. The vast waters of Kanas Lake are as delicate and smooth as milk, with no visible flow. The color of the lake changes with the sunlight and the surrounding environment, from blue-green to light green, to emerald, to lake green. It is said that Kanas Lake is very deep, with the deepest point reaching over 1000 meters. Walking by Kanas Lake, strolling along the glittering Taiga forest corridor, resting on the winding hillside paths, the reflections of the boardwalk and visitors, and the Russian-style log cabins are as beautiful as an oil painting. The Fish Viewing Pavilion, situated at an altitude of 2050 meters on top of Halakate Mountain, offers a 360-degree view of Kanas Lake, which is as calm as a roll of smooth silk. The mountain trails, made of wooden planks or stone slabs, are damp, with handrails on both sides, and the mountain roads are gentle. Unknown wildflowers bloom by the roadside, making it a great spot for photography. To go to Baihaba Village, you need to go through a border station, and an ID card is sufficient. Baihaba Village, only 1.5 kilometers from Kazakhstan, is known as the 'First Village of the Northwest.' Backed by mountains, under the blue sky and white clouds, the village is filled with green lawns and birch forests, log houses, fenced enclosures for livestock, and Tuva people in ethnic costumes, presenting a peaceful and serene picture. The convenient transportation to the Kanas scenic area is to take a flight from Urumqi to Kanas, which takes about 1 hour, and the round-trip ticket costs just over a thousand yuan. Kanas Airport is seasonally open and closed in winter.
