Churchill’s island escape

Just west of the capital Funchal lies the pretty fishing village of Camara de Lobos. On a sunny day, there really aren’t many things as relaxing as sitting at the one of the many bars and restaurants that overlook the harbour and enjoying the atmosphere and stunning views. The views were what drew its most famous visitor here in 1950 who drew one of his many paintings here and as a result much of the village is now named in his honour. #celebrateit #seaside #madeira
