Old Forbidden Army Office Examination Institute, now free to visit Changting County Museum

The site of Changting County Museum was originally the Forbidden Army Office of Tingzhou in the Song Dynasty. During the Ming and Qing Dynasties, it was transformed into the Tingzhou Examination Institute, responsible for the imperial examinations of scholars from the eight counties of Tingzhou. From 1932 to 1935, it was the location of the Soviet Government of Fujian Province. The environment is elegant, and the architecture is simple. In front of the examination institute, there are two cypress trees over 1200 years old, the same age as the ancient city of Tingzhou. Some structures have been restored to depict the activities of the Central Soviet Area. 【Tingzhou Hakka Museum】Utilizing 700 square meters of the examination institute's building, it displays artifacts and introduces the customs of the local Hakka people. 【Changting Revolutionary History Exhibition Hall】Utilizing 750 square meters of the examination institute, it showcases historical artifacts from Tingzhou as the central city of the Central Soviet Area. 【Qu Qiubai's Detention Place】Features a statue of Qu Qiubai and a setup depicting the scene of his detention. 🎟️Ticket Information: Free entry, but ID card is required. 💗Other Tips: 【Opening Hours】Tuesday to Sunday from 8 AM to 12 PM, and from 2:30 PM to 5:30 PM.
