Carrier of Shangdang history

The City God Temple of Lu'an Prefecture is located on East Street, Luzhou District, Changzhi City, Shanxi Province. It was built to worship the City God and is one of the larger and better-preserved ancient architectural complexes among the existing prefectural City God Temples in China. It covers an area of 12,229 square meters and has a building area of 5,175 square meters. It was first built during the Yuan Dynasty. The City God Temple of Lu'an Prefecture faces south and has a three-courtyard layout. In front, there is a sacred path, and the central axis from south to north is 408 meters long. From south to north, there are the Six Dragon Wall, the Grand Gate, the Wooden Archway, the Stone Archway, the Mountain Gate, the Double Tower (Xuanjian Tower), the Opera Tower, the Offering Pavilion, the City God Hall, the Sleeping Palace, and various east and west side halls and corridor rooms in each courtyard. On June 25, 2001, it was approved by the State Council to be included in the fifth batch of national key cultural relics protection units.
