Tianning Temple, Changzhou: A popular place for incense offerings

Basic Information - Address: No. 636 Yanling Middle Road, Tianning District, Changzhou City, Jiangsu Province - Opening hours: 06:30–17:00 (last entry at 16:30) - Tickets: Tianning Temple is free to enter, but Tianning Pagoda charges an admission fee Transportation - Bus: Take bus B12, B2, Y1, 220, 903, 11, 17, or 7 - Subway: Take Line 1 to Wenhuagong Station, then walk to the west gate of Tianning Temple via Luohan Road (in front of No. 24 Middle School) - Self-driving: If you drive, please park in the parking lot next to Hongmei Bus Terminal on Ximi Lane, east of Tianning Temple, and enter through the main south gate Tour Route Visit the Mountain Gate, Hall of Heavenly Kings, Mahavira Hall, Jade Buddha Hall, and Hall of the Three Treasures from south to north. On both sides of the central axis are the Manjusri Hall, Samantabhadra Hall, and other buildings. Tianning Pagoda is located at the north end of Tianning Temple. Main Attractions - Hall of Heavenly Kings and Mahavira Hall: Known for their size, the Hall of Heavenly Kings is over 23 meters tall, and Mahavira Hall is 33 meters tall, both of which are very grand - Tianning Pagoda: With a total area of 27,000 square meters, it is the largest Buddhist pagoda in China. The large pillars and other structures in the pagoda are all made of nanmu wood. There is an elevator to the 12th floor, and you can walk to the top floor. Each floor displays Buddhist treasures according to different themes. Food Recommendations There is a vegetarian restaurant called Tianning Temple Ruyi Vegetarian Restaurant on the east side of the Mountain Gate, which serves vegetarian noodles and other delicacies. The restaurant also offers a CNY 20 buffet. Nearby Attractions After visiting Tianning Temple, you can take a walk in the adjacent Hongmei Park, go shopping on Wenhuagong Commercial Street, or take a boat ride on the ancient canal in Dongpo Park. Notes There is a visitor center on the west side of Tianning Pagoda that offers guided tours. Each tour costs CNY 100 and must be booked 2 days in advance.
