Impressive Wat Phra That Doi Suthep - Chiangmai

#fallingseason Located in the western outskirt of Chiang Mai , Wat Phra That Suthep is the most important temple in the city. It is on top of the Doi Suthep mountain which only takes 30 minutes to reach by car from city center. There is a row of food and gift stalls outside of the temple entrance. After entering the complex, visitors will quickly spot the 306 steps dragon staircase. It is not as intimidating as it sounds, and elevator is available for those who may not be able to walk the steps. The temple interior is impressive with the 24m gold plated chedi in the center. On the exterior, there is a large observation deck which offers a spectacular view of the city below.
