Choosing Villa Mahabhirom in Chiang Mai was mainly attracted by the concept of combining traditional Thai architecture with modern art at the hotel. The hotel consists of 20 traditional Thai teak houses made of golden teak wood, purchased from different regions of Thailand, which have been restored and renovated in consultation with sculptor Chamnian Thongma. The houses are constructed using the traditional 'tongue and groove' method, which not only allows for easy disassembly and assembly, but the flexible joints also allow the house to change with the natural expansion and contraction of the wood. Due to many traditional crafts, the construction of the hotel took 7 years. The interior soft furnishings and the artworks inside the hotel are consistent with the hotel's overall concept: traditional Thai plus modern. Here, one sees the perfect fusion of the wild and art, with rough concrete sculptures beginning to grow mottled moss in the humid climate, and bright yellow large paintings and lanterns appearing in the dark, primitive atmosphere, which are very clever finishing touches. The public areas are decorated with artworks on the path leading to the lobby, giving the impression of being in an art gallery. - As for the stay experience, it is indeed quite noisy due to the proximity to the airport.
