Shuangbei Qianfo Cliff is located behind Puguang Temple in the Gele Mountains in Shapingba District. The cliff carvings here are well preserved. Although they are not as large as the Dazu Rock Carvings, they still showcase the craftsmanship of ancient people. These Buddha statues were carved on the cliff without any mechanical equipment, which is very impressive. Puguang Temple is a very small temple with little historical record. Behind the temple is Qianfo Cliff, with about 40 Buddha statues. These statues may have been carved in recent years, but there may also be older statues. [Personal Experience] To reach Qianfo Cliff, you need to go up the path on the left side of Puguang Temple, and then there is a steep rock wall with few footholds. You need to use the long wooden stakes and vines to go down, and then use the ropes tied to the bamboo to descend to Qianfo Cliff. Then go down the mountain on the other side. As a hiking route in Chongqing, accessible by subway, it is highly recommended. It has various road conditions, rich and interesting, and is a great outdoor hiking experience.
