Baixiangju, Huguang Guild Hall, Raffles: Best Photo Spots in Chongqing

A must-visit spot in Chongqing, where you can easily spend a half day exploring. There are many hidden gems for photography, and if you have enough time, you can take it slow and discover even more beautiful views. ❶ Baixiangju Baixiangju is a classic old residential building, iconic of Chongqing’s unique architecture. Visitors often get confused about which floor they are on, a true symbol of the city’s 8D magic. 📍 Location: Pang Ge Noodle Shop 🅿️ Photo Spot (Pictures 3-7): The long staircase on the right of the shop. This staircase, featured in Better Days (《少年的你》), is a typical Chongqing feature. 🅿️ Photo Spot (Picture 8): Walk down the slope next to the noodle shop until you reach a large platform by the river. It’s a popular spot for photos, and you’ll need a telephoto lens. I used a 24-105 lens, which was a bit tight. When the lighting is right, the twin towers across the river shine beautifully. 🅿️ Photo Spot (Pictures 1-2): The cable car 🚡 passing through the building. After taking pictures of the twin towers, continue forward to a spot where many photographers gather. The cable car comes every five minutes, so be ready when the cable moves. 🅿️ Photo Spot (Picture 9): A popular tea house nearby. Take a break and enjoy some tea. 🅿️ Photo Spot (Picture 10): Across from the cable car spot is the Hidden Corner Z-shaped staircase, which I personally think is a bit ordinary. ❷ Huguang Guild Hall 🅿️ Photo Spots (Pictures 11-16): This was once a settlement for immigrants during the Qing Dynasty, built to connect their hometowns. The view from the East Water Gate Bridge offers a breathtaking sight of the ancient guild hall and modern buildings blending together. 👟 From Baixiangju, it’s only a few minutes walk to 📍East Water Gate Bridge. If you’re not familiar with the area, use navigation. The bridge head is the best free photo spot. 🅿️ Photo Spot (Picture 17): Sitting on the railing at the bridge can also give you a great shot, like a slow-exposure photo with a yellow Ferrari in the frame. ❸ Raffles 🅿️ Photo Spot (Picture 18): From the East Water Gate Bridge, you can walk to 📍Chaodong Road, where the old and new cityscapes intersect. During the day, many workers are around.
