Ancient Inca Capital - Cusco

Cusco is the capital of the ancient Inca Empire. The ancient city of Cusco (also known as "Cuzco") is located in the fertile valley of the eastern Andes Mountains in Peru, at an altitude of 3,410 meters. The climate here is pleasant, and the city is surrounded by towering mountains and lush forests. It is also known as the "Pearl on the Crown of the Andes." In Quechua, "Cusco" means "navel" (or "center of the world").
