Dali | Huoshan, an underrated treasure

My first encounter with Huoshan was in the book "As If There Were Light," a collection of interviews about Dali. I read the article by Shen Jianhua and was drawn to Huoshan Baiju and Shen's Bai Farmer Painting Society. Hiking up Huoshan, you see a different Erhai Lake. The path is a solid one that passes through villagers' fields and villages, where you can hear cows mooing and smell the refreshing scent of pine trees. At first, you just walk on the red soil of Huoshan, experiencing the daily life of the villagers. Then, suddenly, you reach the ridge, and the view opens up. We, who have always been at the foot of the Cangshan Mountains, suddenly see a different Cangshan from across Erhai Lake. This is why I love this suggestion: to climb Huoshan again and see the Cangshan and Erhai Lake sunset from Huoshan. On the way back to the city, we drove through half of Shuanglang. There is a section of the road where you can get up close and personal with the scenery of Erhai Lake. A bright moon rose over the lake, and I felt very calm, thinking that I might come back in a few months.
