June Hiking in Yubeng, a Secret Journey at the Foot of the Snow Mountain

I entered the village on June 14th. At that time, Xidang was not yet closed, but there were no off-road vehicles available . After watching the sunrise over Meili Snow Mountain at Feilai Temple in the morning, I took a minivan by the roadside to Xidang. I bargained with the driver for a shared ride at 20 yuan, but the driver couldn't find any other passengers, so it turned into a private ride for me to Xidang . Around nine o'clock, I started hiking from Xidang to the village. I was quite lucky to meet a group of people working in Yubeng, who accompanied me along the way. I carried a 20-pound bag, and the initial part of the road from Xidang to the village was all uphill, which was exhausting . It took me about six and a half hours to reach the village that day. I stayed at Shang Yubeng Jue Se Su You Cha, which I highly recommend. I stayed there for several days in Yubeng, and my hiking companions were randomly formed in the four-person room . The food there was really delicious . After hiking every day, I would devour two bowls of rice 🍚. In Yubeng, I hiked the Shenpu and Binghu trails. On the day I hiked Shenpu, the weather alternated between sunny and rainy, so I kept putting on and taking off my raincoat. A relatively easy trail took me eight hours to complete . I was luckier on the Binghu trail, with good weather throughout the hike, and the snow mountains were very clear along the way 🏔️. The scenery was absolutely stunning! I originally planned to hike from Binghu to Nise, but I felt too tired on the way back and gave up . I stayed in Yubeng for three days and left on the fourth day via the Ninong trail. In mid-June, the water level was not high, and it was mostly downhill. The weather was also good on the day I left the village, making the hike relatively easy. I am also grateful to the fellow hiker who helped me carry my bag on the way out . Otherwise, I might have slid down some of the steeper slopes with my bag . This trip was also my first time hiking alone. I felt quite lucky throughout the journey, meeting many great companions along the way. Even after such a long time, I still miss the days in Yubeng. The snow mountains and forests were so healing. I will definitely go back to complete the trails I missed .
