This is in Italy (near Venice)! Called Dolomites

#europetrip #outdooradventure #hiddengems if you are planning to visit Venice, definitely drive to the Dolomites. The Dolomites are nothing short of magical, and our hike to Tre Cime di Lavaredo and Cadini di Misurina in April was an unforgettable experience. While spring brings unpredictable weather and lingering snow, it also reveals a quieter and more serene side of these iconic peaks. Getting There We began our journey at Misurina, a charming alpine village nestled by a stunning lake. From there, we drove up to Rifugio Auronzo, the starting point for the Tre Cime di Lavaredo loop hike. While the road can be closed due to snow in early spring, it was accessible for us in mid-April—be sure to check conditions in advance. The Hike to Tre Cime di Lavaredo The trail was partly covered in snow, but with proper hiking boots and trekking poles, the trek was manageable. The route around the famous three peaks—Tre Cime—is breathtaking at every turn. The jagged peaks rise dramatically against the blue sky, with patches of snow adding to their grandeur. As we hiked, the landscape alternated between snow-covered paths and rocky terrain. Some sections were slippery, so we took our time. The silence of the mountains in April, without the usual summer crowds, made the experience feel even more special. The Detour to Cadini di Misurina Before completing the Tre Cime loop, we decided to take a short detour to the Cadini di Misurina viewpoint. This lesser-known spot is gaining popularity for its dramatic ridges and Instagram-worthy vistas. The trail here was narrower and snowier, requiring extra caution, but the view was absolutely worth it. The jagged spires of Cadini pierced the sky, creating a surreal and unforgettable panorama.
