Dongshan Guandi Temple, one of the four major Guandi Temples in China

Dongshan Guandi Temple was first built in the 20th year of Hongwu in the Ming Dynasty (1387), with a construction area of ​​680 square meters. It is known as one of the "Four Great Guandi Temples in China" along with the Guandi Temple in Yuncheng, Shanxi, the Guandi Temple in Luoyang, Henan, and the Guandi Temple in Dangyang, Hubei. The Temple of the Emperor was listed as the fourth batch of national key cultural relics protection units by the State Council in 1996, and was listed as the "China Overseas Chinese International Cultural Exchange Base" in 2020 and the "Cross-Strait Exchange Base" in 2023. The temple is well preserved and has a large number of artistic treasures such as colored porcelain, cut-out carvings, stone carvings, gold-lacquered wood carvings, and gilded paintings. It can be called the "Southern Fujian Architectural Art Museum." There are now nearly a thousand Guandi temples throughout Taiwan and overseas, which recognize the Dongshan Guandi Temple as the ancestral temple.
