Xiankeng Village, Dongyuan, Guangdong, houses the Xun Gong Ancestral Hall

The Xun Gong Ancestral Hall is a standalone hall with three bays and three sections. In front of it, there is a semi-circular pond, dedicated to the worship of an ancestor from a branch of the Ye family that split off. The establishment of this hall signifies the separation of the worship space from the Hakka enclosed houses, indicating a trend in Xiankeng Village's residential architecture from a combined ancestral hall and dwelling to a separation of the two.
