The Lana, Dubai

Before checking in, I was hesitant for a long time because the room photos on the official website were far from my expectations. I had stayed at two hotels in London, one in Rome, and one in Paris, and they all had rooms that I fell in love with at first sight. However, the Dubai hotel had none, which surprised me, considering how new the hotel is and how innovative the city of Dubai is. The Lana only has rooms above the Duplex Suite that are impressive. Considering the cost-effectiveness, I booked a basic room. On the day of check-in, even though I checked in at 11 am, I was still upgraded four levels to the Sky Marina Junior Suite, which is one of the best rooms with a view of the Burj Khalifa. If you have high privacy requirements, this is the best room because many suites at The Lana are close to the rooms opposite, so you have to close the curtains. However, this Junior Suite doesn't have such issues. The room's color scheme is consistent with the hotel's main color scheme, which is pink. The interior style is Parisian in the Middle East. I must say, the hotel's efforts have paid off. After staying at so many hotels in Dubai and the Middle East, this is probably the only one that has successfully created an overall Parisian style. The highlight is the bathroom, from the mirror light design to the bathtub placement, which is clearly not Middle Eastern style. The highlight of the bedroom is the full-length mirror next to the desk, which adds points to the room in terms of space and light. Also, the door to the foyer can be closed, which means there are two doors between the room and the public area, providing excellent soundproofing. The door frames and desk surfaces are made of marble (I think it's marble, but I haven't verified it). The attention to detail in the construction is absolutely leading by Middle Eastern standards. I also want to mention the bedding, which is Frette (I only checked the pillowcases, which are Frette, so I guess the bedding is all Frette), and it feels like 800 thread count. The mattress is a typical European soft bed, extremely comfortable! The drawbacks are also clear: the welcome amenities are simple. The in-room dining is terrible. I ordered lobster risotto, which was authentic but looked terrible.
