Yangguan- the ancient fortress

If you’re traveling on the Silk Road, this is a place you don’t want to miss . Yangguan is a bit far from Dunhuang. You need to rent a car to get there or ask your hotel/hostel for a one day tour to Dunhuang ancient city, Yangguan, Yumen, West Buddha cave, and the National Park. The cost is around 70 yuan per person. You’ll leave Dunhuang around 8am and come back around midnight. At Yanguguan, you can get an entry/exit stamp in Chinese. Be prepared to have your name translated into Chinese. It costs 60yuan for a stamp that looks very legit. If you want to explore the ruins of Yangguan pay another 20yuan for an electric car or you can walk to the ruins. Yangguan is located in dessert, so bring sunscreen, umbrella, hat and plenty of water.
