The Qinghai-Gansu Grand Loop is so beautiful!

Not long ago, my colleagues and I went on a 7-day trip to the Qinghai-Gansu Grand Loop. Day 1: Fly from Changsha to Xining in the morning. Rent a tank for self-driving. The travel agency sent a business car with a driver (also a guide). Depart from Caojiabao Airport to Xining City to buy supplies. Visit the Qinghai Tibetan Culture Museum with kids. Have lamb ribs and paojiang noodles for lunch. In the afternoon, visit Riyue Mountain, Qinghai Lake, Heimahe, and Rubber Mountain. Stay overnight in Chaka. Day 2: Visit Chaka Salt Lake in the morning. Have lunch at Hanhai Silk Road Restaurant. Delicious 😋. Depart late in the afternoon. We were supposed to go to Qarhan, but it was too late, so we postponed it. Pass by meadows and gobi. Beautiful scenery and sunshine. Stay overnight in Golmud. Have Dingding beef for dinner. Day 3: Depart from Golmud. Visit Kunlun Sacred Spring, Wuji Longfeng Palace, Qinghai-Tibet Highway, and Hoh Xil. Beautiful scenery. Cute Tibetan antelopes. Return to Golmud in the evening. Have fish with pickled peppers for dinner. Stay overnight in Golmud. Day 4: Depart from Golmud. Visit Qarhan Salt Lake in the morning. Windy and beautiful scenery. Go to Highway 315 and Yadan. Play in the desert for a long time. Have instant noodles for lunch. Visit Yadan National Geological Park, Bicolor Lake, and East Taijiner Lake in the afternoon. The lake is getting smaller. Watch the stars on Highway 315 in the evening. So beautiful! Have dinner at a highway service station. Stay overnight in Dachaidan. So far away. Day 5: Depart from Dachaidan. Emerald Lake is closed due to weather. Depart and pass by Mahai to pick goji berries. Arrive at Lenghu Town. Pass by the ruins of the oil town. No check-in. Arrive at Heidushan. Super windy and sandy! Continue to Dunhuang in the afternoon. Pass by Altun Mountain Tunnel. Arrive in Dunhuang in the evening! Stay overnight in Dunhuang. Visit Dunhuang Night Market. Have dinner at a snack street. Day 6: Visit Mogao Caves in the morning. Book tickets one month in advance. Dress up as a flying Apsara and take photos after 3 pm. Have dinner at a nearby noodle restaurant. Ride a camel, drive a desert off-road vehicle, and attend a concert in the evening. Wonderful! Stay overnight in Dunhuang. Day 7: Have breakfast at Xiaji Hezhi. Visit Dunhuang Museum in the morning. Have lunch at Qiangji Xiapo. Visit Dunhuang Bookstore in the afternoon. Depart for the airport after 4 pm. Transfer in Lanzhou and return to Changsha! We didn't go to Jiayuguan and Zhangye, but we went to Hoh Xil. The itinerary was reasonable. The scenery was beautiful. The flying Apsara was wonderful.
