It is said to be the most relaxing port town in Japan, and is also the sacred place of Ponyo on the Cliff. NIPPONIA Tomonoura Port Town is a decentralized hotel located in Tomonoura, which is full of such historical atmosphere. This time, we visited the hotel's front desk, Higoya, a wooden house that has been selling homeishu and sea bream miso since the Edo period. The previous owner came from Higo Province, and so the name "Higoya" has long been familiar to guests. The building not only functions as a front desk, but can also be used as guest rooms "SEKI" and a shop and cafe. The cafe is only open on Saturdays and Sundays, and is open to non-guests. From Friday to Monday, they sell household goods and stylish items that would make great souvenirs. After checking in, you can enjoy a stroll around the town of Tomo while being told about the history and recommendations of Tomo on your way to the inn. There are 6 guest rooms in total.
