Jeonju_Geumsansa Temple 2023.

Geumsansa Temple (Geumsansa: 금산사), also known as the Golden Mountain Temple, is a Buddhist temple located at the foot of Moaksan Mountain in Moaksan National Park. It was built in 600 AD during the Baekje Kingdom. The journey is not as difficult as you might think. From the Christian church in front of Jeonju Hanok Village, cross the street to Pungnammun Gate. Walk past the gate until you find a bus stop in front of a flower shop. The bus stop has a digital timetable that shows real-time schedules. Take bus number 79 and enjoy the scenic ride until the last stop. Then walk past various restaurants, or you can stop for a meal. Many restaurants here specialize in Jeonju-style bibimbap. Our group enjoyed the scenery as we walked until we found the entrance. The ticket costs about 3000 won per person. As you walk, you'll see beautiful trees and a shaded area where people can rest before continuing to the temple. Personally, I love the tranquility and the surrounding nature. The temple grounds are vast with beautiful flowers, especially the creeping pine trees, which must be very old to grow so beautifully. We enjoyed the serene Baekje-style art. I've visited this temple 2-3 times. Once, I had the chance to pray and make merit, and somehow, the staff took us to pray under the base of the Buddha statue. I admire the craftsmanship of the Buddha statue; it has remained beautiful and strong over the years. I heard that if you visit in March, the entrance will be filled with cherry blossoms, so I plan to visit again. The temple has a souvenir shop like most temples, but what caught my eye were the beautiful real stone bracelets, such as Tiger Eye, Moonstone, and Carnelian, at affordable prices. So, I bought some as gifts for good luck.
